Downshift "Blipper" Function - You want?

Yes, no problems with RapidBike and BlipBox together. We have a few more Blip Box Pro's in stock now if anyone else wants to jump on the train! There's also a Superleggera model available now.

I'll be jumping on for my 899 any day now.

For those who Race or ride A group pace with the BLIPBOX, What Engine Brake Control setting works for you?

I like Level 3 on the 899 with the BlipBox, I had that setup on our demo model we had out at the track a few weeks ago.

Downshift "Blipper" Function - You want?

Got mine installed... Have a question and a weird issue:

Question: My shift rod came with a rubber O ring. I did not see a place to put it... Where does it go?

Problem: Sometimes when decelerating in low gears I get a somewhat large series of backfires, almost like partial blips. The bike lurches a bit and pops. Is this something people have seen? This is new behavior after installing the blip box.

For anyone who has experienced the "pop" in the exhaust noted above, the manufacturer has identified the cause of that, it's the cable routing on the right side of the bike being to close to the coil and causing interference with the CAN signals. If you reference the latest installation manual (Version 9) the new cable routing is described:

Blip Box Downloads

There is a new tecnical release which addresses this issue, here's what it says:

"Tech release 05 on 10/11/15 – Erratic low speed throttle / occasional ‘pop’ in the exhaust during braking

The Blip Box wire routing described in the installation manuals up to v07 allowed some electrical noise to be transmitted from the horizontal coil into the Blip Box system creating a slightly erratic twist grip signal.

The cable routing described in manual v08 onwards takes the left side cable clear of the coil and all is OK.

The cable routing on the right side of the bike has always been correct but we have found some installers ignore this advice and also encounter the same problem."

Thanks Jarel for the update.

A Quick question - Does the Bilpbox constantly draw power, with the bike turned off and key removed?

Thanks.

will wonders never cease.....why chase non-ducati approved items

"Boom Goes The Dynamite" !!

i'm joking, of course, but this thread is ripe for the nay-sayers

Thanks.

Only for a brief time during the "power down" cycle for 30 seconds or so, then it's completely off.

"For Racing Use Only", just like every afterket exhaust system, fuel controller, etc. on the market. ;)

My CAN wire routing was fine but my load cell wire was running too near the coil on that side (per their old instructions). I changed to their new instructions and it is smooth as it was before I installed the box. I love this thing! I recommend rerouting the wire if you have not already.

I am surprised they didn't use EMI-shielded wire for sensative analog signals. I do a lot of wiring for car EFI systems, and we always use shielded wire for TPS and VR sensors.

Question: just about to install the pro system on my 1199s. I am also running a Brembo RCS 16 clutch master which does not have the "switch" that tells the bike if the clutch is pulled or not.

One of the conditions for the blip to be activated is "clutch is OUT(disabled when rider pulls in the clutch)."

So if the bike / blip box doesn't know if the clutch is pulled or not.... Error code?

Anyone else running an RCS clutch master unit sans switch and a BB?

Thanks!
