DP Levers, DP Filler Cap & Rizoma Pegs

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

lots of different folding pegs out there, oberon, couple different rizoma pegs as pictured in this thread. The rizoma pegs use the factory peg mounting pin and spring.

The pegs look great silver. I think the black would stand out too much. Did you use the spring that came with the OEM pegs? Or are they solid pegs? I want to get pegs that fold using the springs. Thanks

I went with the silver Pro B pegs myself and think they blend better with the other stock silver pieces. Otherwise I think the black stands out too much and is not as clean looking.

I also did a track day with them and they performed well also.

Xbox- The bike is looking great! I also installed the fuel cap and it makes such a huge visible improvement over the stock silver cap.

Cali- Nice stable going there! Can't wait for the .... shoot centerfold layout...Ahhh I can picture it now...

What do you use to clean your bike? It looks brand new!

Seriously I'm looking for a product

thx

Thanks Nikt :)

I use the following:

- Time

- Effort

.... with a liberal application of OCD :p

Seriously though, nothing special - PTFE spay, WD40, Autoglym polish and lots of spit!

As Chris said, the Rizoma, like all the pegs I considered, are folding and use the OEM pin and spring.

Very easy to do the swap, but the folding mount usually costs the same as the peg

Even upside down, they are just so functional, which is what I like. I agree re black anodizing, which is another reason for silver.

Maybe a good choice if I don't bond with the Rizi's.

+1 on the LSL I have these and best money I have spent. Great grip and keeps the silver look close to stock.

Levers on

Can someone explain why a 10-min job just took me 2-hours

OK, so I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but boy can these things eat time.

those look great! Any problem with the install? Brake light still functions correctly?

Your either very well informed, very experienced with levers, very lucky, or some combination of all three :p

Allow me to elaborate on where some of the additional 1hr 50mins went....

So, the levers are ever so slightly thinner than the OEM, meaning there is a little more free play at the pivot points. Seriously, we're talking maybe a 10th of a mm, but it was just enough to leave pressure on the brake microswitch, preventing it from disengaging.

Result, 1 in 5 pulls left the brake lights on

Easy fix, wrapped a small strip of tape around the actuating peg and sorted :)

ha! Yep this is a very common occurrence, I first experienced it many years ago when I fitted the radial gp master cylinders on my 996 (this was ca. 2000 and not a lot of aftermarket things available compared to today. Amazingly, to solve the brake issue, we had to use a KTM brake switch.

I think the levers really lift the overall look and go very nicely with the filler cap:

.... and yes Cali, I know the DP Rearsets will be the finishing touch :)

LSL do the same. 5 minute job to fit. Lots more grip and still comfortable for the street.

Xbox
They look great and thanks for posting the pics and the fix for the standard problem.

You have me tempted with the look of your DP tank cap.

Stopping by a dealer in a few days and may pick one up. Besides folding and the Ducati Logo are there any other advantages to the new levers ? They do look nice.

They weigh a little less and adjust slightly better, also have the easy-snap end section.

In operation, you feel the square profile, rather than curved, so just a little different.

so what'd you have to remove to put it on? I'm guessing the whole footpeg assembly? and......?

Lower fairing, rear-sets, gear change arm and slave clutch cylinder.

Wow!! Thats a lot of work.

I hope you remembered to locktite the rearset bolts and leave them to set for at least 12 hours. :p:p:p

BTW, levers in the morning :)

It has been awhile since I've done any mods and feel pretty sketchy about screwing something up. Any words of wisdom regarding the installation of the levers? I'm putting some pazzos on today and not feeling very confident about it.

Thanks
