2016 Ducati 1299 Panagale. Had it 3 days. Been riding 10 years never one issue. Dropped the bike in a parking lot not moving, jeans got caught on rear peg. I checked all the parts and around $1231 for new ones that are scuffed, plus labor I guess, but I could do it all myself. $500 deductible. I have Geico. I feel like an ... making a claim for my stupidity, but they say that's what insurance is for. Do you think my rates would go up?
Anyone have experience with something similar with Geico?

post WTB in the classifieds and get everything pennies on dollar from member(s) that converted to track... be patient... or pay up...

some of the factory parts you can replace with superior aftermarket -- if you did itemized list and posted in WTB it'd help..

THIS.

Also, contact forum member zohsix01.
He always has tons of parts.

Sorry dude, I feel your pain. Damn!
Pay the excess and claim, spend the rest on booze and women to forget it ever happened. [emoji3]

That's nothing no need to go track bike on it. If insurance covers to save you 500 then go that route. Make sure to check your steering stops on the forks for fracture/damage, have them fix that too and safety check the entire bike.

Im have had similar issues with my shoe getting stuck, feel for you bud a new bike ,,, annoying.

I dropped my 1199 6 weeks after buying it. Luckily the gigantic/ugly T-Rex slider did it's job and completely protected the fairings. The stock bar end took a beating though.

If you file a claim for $1300 you have no business owning one of these vehicles. I'd keep myself claim free rather than try and get an $800 (after deductible) check from insurance.

Put a want to buy on the forum and buy the parts. It's easy to swap these parts yourself.

Or if you want to put a bad mark on your insurance for such a small thing go right ahead.

Not worth claiming to save $800, they'll get you in the long run or when you change insurance.

Wait until you have a $5000+ worth of damage.

Additionally you have geico.

Just because these parts run $1200 from Ducati doesn't mean it will cost anywhere near that. A peg alone from Ducati costs $100+. eBay? $20. A bar end from Ducati? $80. eBay- $20. Lever from Ducati? $200. eBay? $50.

Just source the parts yourself. Do not file a claim with geico for $800. You are going to pay more in the long run I promise you.

Don't claim anything post a wanted ad here like others stated then pick the bike up and ride it.

Got some OEM stuff from my '13 1199R laying around if they fit your bike you can have them.
