In Ducati's propaganda for the 2021 V4, they describe DTC EVO 3 as....

"The Riding Mode strategy is also new; specifically, the Race Riding Mode has been split into two mappings that can now be freely compared in the individual parameters, allowing the rider to quickly compare two different configurations to define the best set-up based on the track and riding style."

What is this "two mappings" thing?

Seriously? It was that simple? From the .... fest explanation I thought it was something way more complicated.

Yep. B sounds an awful lot like the 20 V4 where you get reduced torque in 1-3... the dealer (a racer) told me it was for less experienced riders/rough tracks.

You still have reduced torque in Race A in gears 1-3 too. B is just watered down even more. That's why 20-21 slower than 18-19 in first three gears.
I have a 2021 V4 so I can vouch for the slower acceleration

Hey Ducati, how about the 18-19 torque as Race A and with the EVO3 softer setting as Race B? This combination seems like it would be more effective for fast track day guys and expert racers and slower track days guys, novice racers and street people.

Interesting. I was told A had full power, but I guess the curve could still be flatter than it was in 18-19 bikes.

I've been behind guys on 18-19 bikes, stock exhaust and they pull me even in Race A mode. The upmap will unlock it I believe back to non torque limited response.
I went down a tooth in front recently and will be at track this weekend so see how much of a difference it makes in lower gears. Once you hit 4th it's all good but by then you've been left in the dust.

What do you think of the self-bleeding brake & clutch pumps? Worth it or gimmick? it's kind of the only gripe I have with the 20...

I haven't felt like I needed to bleed them. If I had any gripes with the brakes it would be the near nonexistent feeling of the rear brake.

yeah... I've the same issue w rear brake. I think it's the heat because it seems to deteriorate over time.

Fairly certain it's just a bad rear brake setup with the lines and ABS. I basically never had a rear brake, even on fresh fluids and a new rotor (at one point a piston was leaking and they replaced the entire rotor/caliper on warranty) until I removed the ABS lines and just have it routed from lever to caliper. Suddenly significantly more braking force. Still not amazing, but I rarely ever use it. It at least is strong enough to actually hold the wheel still when torquing on the axle nut. On the OEM setup, even with a buddy stomping on the lever, it would spin before I hit torque spec.

Maybe one day you guys will be able to create your own ETV map for each gear : )
