Hi,
I'm looking at purchasing a Panigale (899 or 1199 S) soon, but I like to know if I can change out the 899 headlight to 1199's full LED headlight. Also, has anyone done this before and how much did it cost?
Let me provided a little background of myself. I have been riding since 2009 when I first purchased a used 2006 HD Sportster 883, but I sold it soon after 6 months bec I like the bobber look. So, I took the proceeds from the sale and bought a HD bike with a special construction title. I kept it for almost 2 years then sold it since I can't find an insurance carrier who would provide me a full comprehensive insurance or else pay $4K annually with a special insurance co. In 2013, I decided to go back to a 2004 HD Sportster 883 which tricked out to a bratstyle look e.g. Crazy Orange Motorcycle in Japan. Fore reference, here are a few pictures of my past bikes.

2004 HD Sportster 883 (Custom) - CURRENT
Now, I like to purchase another bike to add to the garage. I don't ride too often and when I do it's just for leisure (so far). This Panigale will only be ridden on streets and probably never seen a track day. I might use it as a daily commuter where I like to avoid getting stuck in LA traffic. I say my riding skills are not even up to par comparing to any members on this forum. I'm 5'8 and 165 pounds, so I say I have an average build. I really like the 899 knowing I don't need all the power from a 1199. But, when I sit down and do the math I noticed the costs of the (new/used) bike and the aftermarket parts will add up to or more than a used 2013 1199 S.
So, here is my really question. Should I get a 899 and upgrade it's headlight to 1199's full LED headlight (if possible) and continue to mod it to the way I like? Or get a 1199 S and pretty much keep it the way it is? However, I need to have a Akra or Termi exhaust on the 1199 S.
I appreciate anyone's comment and please let me know how you feel if you have had both 899 and upgraded to a 1199 or 1299.
