I have a 2022 Panigale V2 on order that should arrive in the next week or two. I'm adding a few accessories, but my question is whether the Ducati Anti-Theft Kit is worth it? For those of you that have it installed, is it reliable, a pain in the a$$, awesome, unnecessary? What are your opinions? Thanks in advance.

I've always felt that an anti theft device on a motorcycle is a complete waste of money. If someone wants your bike bad enough, 2 strong people and boom....it's theirs. Either never leave it alone and out of sight for too long or take your chances if you don't own a home with a garage. Apartment garages are basically useless as I've had a few unfortunate friends who have had their bikes taken from their garage complex. It's the worst part of owning a bike....kinda easy to steal.

You can plug this into any Mits or Siemens ECU equipped Ducati and drive it off. It completely eliminates all ignition and elock function so yep if someone wants it, there going to get it

I use the Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit lock when I park my bike overnight at a track. I agree with @double0 that my bike is as good as gone if someone—especially a pro—wants it. My hope/goal in using a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit lock is to give the thief a little incentive to avoid my bike and steal the bike that doesn’t have any security system. All things being equal, maybe I’ll get lucky.

If I was going to steal a bike which had a super heavy duty lock I wouldn't bother with the lock. I'd cut the material it was locked to. That being said, I do like that Kryptonite lock.

It's like lockers at the gym. I wouldn't bust the lock to break into one, I'd pry the door off of the hinges. Its a tiny screw 1/4" or 3/8" deep in particle board. Still, I keep a lock on mine because there's plenty of morons who don't. Let them move on to a soft target.

I have it installed on my Ducati. Mainly for it making a noise when I’m away on the bike and staying at a hotel.
In 8300 miles it has been very reliable and never caused any problems.

I dont worry about it, its a security cycle that spirals out of control. Bigger locks, fortress garages, machine gun nests....I just pay the insurance and if it goes, c'est la vie...
