Ducati shopping

Shopping for a 899 or 959 after an 11 year hiatus. My last bike was a 10’ RSV4 that was shipped to my front door from AF1 Racing. I registered on here a few years back when I got a slight itch to get another bike and never went through with it. Now I have a full on itch, haha. I have always wanted a Duc and now I’m 100% set on it. It will be used for mainly canyon rides.

I’ve noticed the forums don’t have the activity like they used to from 10-15 years ago. What happened?

My guess, the rise of 'content creators' on social media platforms, such as YouTube and the diminishment of common, courteous behaviors as the newer generation of forum users are all too eager to engage in pissing matches and braggadocio. Additionally, stuff that was once considered 'locker room banter' has become verboten and moderators on a lot of sites have become more and more aggressive about shutting such conversation down.

I owned an 2014 RSV4 Factory and wound up trading it in for an 1199R. The Ducatis have much, much more personality and tactile feedback. I have a 2002 998R that is like riding an overpowered farm implement compared to the new V4 stuff.

The market is good for used 899s and 959s. Best of luck with your search.

I’m actually picking up a 21’ V2 for a really good price with a nice mod list and low miles on Saturday morning.
