The problem with the SL, is it isn't much different than a Base with an Akra. I bet 90% of the people that rode both blindfolded, would not know the difference, and would run into some obstacle they didn't see at the same speed.

Right now I'm undecided due to only 400 miles on an 1199r. I did put 19,000 miles on a D16rr and I can tell you the bike was completely amazing once you got into triple digits. The D16rr can only be appreciated when ridden on open twisty highways or the track.

Desmo because it looks simple and beautiful, lot of people argue over the 1199 in the non Ducatisti world but no one slags off the Desmo and you can't, I like the 1199 but I only bought it to have the latest thing I could justifiably to buy for the money, I like looking at my 749 more!

couldn't agree more , the ugliest bike around and being a Ducati make the bike looks uglier because it is not their style no matter how powerful it is , and they should colored it black so no one can suffer.

please tell me you didn't ride the VMAX because if you did you wouldn't speak about it like any other bike it is something else , and i didn't know that you have to own something before you speak your mind about it, is it the new wave of censorship ??!!!

well ugly is the first word i said when i saw it on the web and magazines but when i saw it in person ,,,,,, boy oh boy , it is like nothing else out there and still i think it has such a presence that only few bikes have it , but it is up to you of course to speak your mindSeems I owe you a apology . You actually do know what a ugly bike looks like .

Function over form for you I guess. Not hating, but to say those thousands of hours Ducati spent in the windtunnel for their MotoGP team and say it's ugly just breaks my heart
