Ducati throttle SPACER

Lol

They got the bit from China for 40 cents. Think I got the kit for $30? 1.5 years ago? Huge pet peeve. Throttle slop. Used to really piss me off on carbureted bikes cuz as soon as I felt the slop I knew the guy that assembled my bike was a lame. What else he half ass? Couldn’t believe my R came w slop from Ducati. My multi was rbw and it was goot n tight

They probably did get them for .40 each but had to buy a few thousand to make that happen.

The throttle slop I remember on anything I rode that actually had a throttle cable still had weight to it. The part that bother me about how Ducati does the free play is that there's no weight to it, it just lacks any feeling.

Pull zip tie over throttle end stops. Make sure ratcheting element is not in the way.

personally, I’d go with the cut piece of pneumatic tubing over the zip ties

OK. Makes more sense to me, too.

Any guess on diameter size of pneumatic tubing?

Ok as of one hour ago I did the throttle modification with Shrink wrap wiring cover. Cost me $4 per meter and i used about 2 inches of it. Really easy. I used 12mm shrink wrap with a glue lining, cut of about 15mm, placed over each throttle stop, heated with a heat gun, then trimmed.. Job done! Dont spend $40 when less than $4 will do the same job!

1st image is of the shrink wrap you need
2nd image is of the 2 stops, one un heated and one after heating
3rd image trimmed up (not so good trimming bit works beautifully!)

Many thanks to showing this in detail! My throttle is so sloppy that I feel it floating in my hand while riding down the road. Pretty shocked they have such wide open tolerances for this. But, to be honest, the slop that is bothering my is the left to right side play. I'm assuming the little bit of tubing over the ends of the stops will take that up. I like the idea of using some PFA tubing since the teflon will act as a lubricant.

I still would have had no problem paying the Ducati Spacers guys if that was the only option. They did, after all, manufacture a solution.

It also makes no sense as to why they would use a security bit there...

Cable actuation is still the best. I hate the slack in this setup because it cannot be adjusted at all to my needs. Mid-corner throttle application made me switch to the Ducabike throttle housing that has NO play at all. It better but the throttle application still feels numb.

I agree. There is a weight to the cables which is nice. I would think there's a spring which could be changed to give a better feel.

The Jetprime E-Wire throttle is my Idea decades ago ;) , they stole it right out of my head :D
does anybody know the stock throttle angle? please?
the domino is rated 65°, not that short, i prefer 60°.
so you pay 500 for what exactly? a little less freeplay?

I absolutely could not stand the throttle slop. I put in rubber tubes and I'm inlove. Throttle shuts off to idle all the same, but coming out of corners, the timing to get ON the gas is 60% better. The slop felt like random time gap to correct throttle position. Lunacy.
I like Paul G's reasoning though - just stay on the gas! ha!
