dyno testing the Termi up map on a stock bike

I appreciate everyone's help on this. I will disconnect the O2 sensors.

I discovered the thread on the UpMap for the SF V4 and this is sprinkled throughout the discussion. I wish I had read that before the install.

I got the O2 sensors disconnected. I wrapped the connectors on the lower left because it looks like a place that gets dirty easily. The one under the tank, I just left as is.
Fired it up and no CEL. No re-flash the UpMap flash (Performance for Arrow with DB killers on my stock exhaust.)

Rode about 45 minutes today, and it was SO much better. Smoother and not chugging at lower speeds. I didn't think I could love riding this more than I already did! Just unbelievable all around.

why not just remove the sensor and plug the hole?

I can’t speak for anyone else but just unplugging the sensors is easier. Getting access to one of the 02 sensors is a PITA if I recall correctly.

You need to at least partially remove the tank to get at the rear one. Or, better said, get to a point where you can lift the tank a few inches to get to the O2 sensor.

So y’all are seeing improvements from simply unplugging the O2?
Yes, this is just with the UpMap mapping. The mapping made improvements but some variances through RPM range. After advice, I unplugged the O2 sensors connections (not the actual sensors) and the RPMs flow perfectly.

It is glorious!

Also, getting to the connections isn't really that hard, it is just a pain in the butt to get to the one under the tank. Just a lot of screws to undo and put back. Nothing hard to wrench on.

So, should I disconnect the O2 sensors

with the termi up map?

how many sensors are they?

any disadvantage with disconecting them?

No disadvantage, the T800 disables them so they're just doing nothing at that point. The potential issue is it is possible they still communicate with the ECU latently despite being turned off, slowly changing the tune over time. Also, it has been suggested that leaving them installed can damage them, something about the voltage keeping them clean, but I somewhat doubt that one. I removed mine and plugged the holes to get rid of just a few more wires.

Thanks man

and you say, there is a noticeable improvement?

i mean, in feel or smoothness

It is noticeably improved over stock mapping. Much smoother in the lower rev range. However, I have been noticing lumpiness in the map while on track. I went to a track with very long sweeping corners that really use the entire rev range, and found a lumpy spot around 6-7krpm. I imagine that is where it switches between the open and closed loop maps. Closed loop no longer uses the O2 sensors, but it seems there's not a perfectly smooth transition between the two.

I'm hoping Woolich or some other true ECU flashing/mapping service becomes available, been waiting for years now. HSBK/Warhorse racing said they can do it, but I am located in San Diego and they are in the Northeast, so it isn't an option.
