My 1299S has approximately 250 miles on it. MWR air filter. Rapid Bike module. Full Akro exhaust. Pump fuel-93 octane. Last night we put the 1299 on a DynoJet. It put down 193.8 rwhp. I was just floored.

I currently have/race a 2008 Honda CBR 1000RR with a superbike motor. It puts down 191 w/ VP U4.4 fuel. I spent $5k just on cams, pistons, pingel rods, etc.

I am just blown away by my new baby. I knew it pulled like an ox on steroids and top end was like a falcon but OMG. Only 200 miles and crummy Shell station 93 fuel.My CBR, with exhaust etc, but no motor work, put down 148 at the rear wheel before we started working on it. By the way, we modified (cut out) the Woodcraft shift side rear set so it would fit. We just grooved it out a bit so it would fit over the bolt head sticking out of the spar. I was hell bent not to put the DucaBike rear sets on my bike after I read what you guys said. But, the DucaBike rear sets are very pretty compared to the Woodcraft rear sets ( but pretty doesn't get it on the track.)

When you guys start dynoing your bikes, post the numbers. I would love to see them. I am just blown away by this bike!!! Thanks.

Wow.!!!! Those are some stout numbers and very encouraging. It seems as if this bike can be left pretty much stock, just with bolt-ons and be within spitting distance of 200rwhp... Pretty damn impressive.

My bike with almost 2,000 miles on it, feels noticeably quicker than it did at 600 miles, so I think there's more to come, even just from getting some mileage on the engine and it loosening up.

Cheers and thanks for posting.

Jeeezes... congrats, this really sounds almost unreal! You make me rethink about buying a 1299 :)

I asked Chris Barnett (Cycle Image-Jacksonville, Florida) to get me a print out. I don't have it but when I do, I will post it. He did ask me a strange question this morning..."Is the RACE mode the fastest mode?" I said yeah, I think so. He then said it ran lean on the run up. So, I was waiting to hear..yeah, it put down 171 rwhp. Instaed, he said your bike put down 193.8 rwhp and was a beast. I sat there and just started "grinning."

Thinking about it a bit further, I am convinced that once these bikes break in and get, say 2500miles on the engines, we will see stock RWHP figures in the 185-190 range and around 195-205 RWHP for bikes will full systems, RapidBike modules, race air filters and race gas.

I am also interested in seeing the graph from your dyno run, as it would be very interesting to put it alongside the one from my custom flashed BMW S1000RR which on crappy California 91 octane gas put down 184.6 RWHP. I suspect that even if the peak figure are close to each other, the 1299 will be overwhelmingly stronger from 4,000 rpm to the rev limiter, vs the BMW.

I will try to get my stock bike down to my tuner and get it dynoed and see what results I get on California 91.

Thanks again

Rapid bike module for 1299S? Where can I get this from and what type, race or Evo?

Nowhere you can get race gas? Dyno with 91 seems risky
all of us here in CA, have to run our bikes on 91.. You CAN get race gas, but it would get a tad expensive running race gas for my commute:eek: I got over 53,000 miles out of my BMW S1000RR with a full race Akra, race filter and custom tune on it.. No reason why I can't get the same out of the 1299. If you look in the owners manual, it is designed to run on 91 octane gas. Unless you have a specific map for race gas, it will lose power compared to 91 octane if you run race gas in it.

The real issue with our gas is that it has ethanol in it...

Wonder if there are aftermarket solutions to upgrade fuel pump, lines, injectors that are ethanol safe. Would be a much better and cheaper solution. More power, run cooler, have race gas like benefits at a fraction of the cost. No idea if it's even possible like it is with cars and tuning. My EvoX was a monster on e-85.

91 should be fine for commuting, but risky for the high load/heat generated by dyno runs - better safe than sorry

lines etc

If the bike is sold in the US I am sure everything is compatible with ethanol fuel. All we have at the pumps here is 93 octane with 10% ethanol. I think that is pretty much everywhere now. Why would they sell a bike you can't put pump gas in? That is pretty ....... stupid.

my understanding is that higher octanes do not = more power but with resistance to ignition thus allowing higher compression combustion, there was a whole discussion on the subject somewhere else in the forum. Ethanol reduces power because it maintains caloric power without affecting octanage. Lead has the opposite effect. In summary, you are better off with no ethanol gas than with higher octanes
