Went to the motorcycle show today in New York. Spoke to the Ducati rep about the differences in electronics between the 2017 1299s and my 2015 1299s. He said that Ducati will offer an Evo electronics retrofit through Ducati Performance. He did not have all the details, but said that the functions of traction control, etc, will be improved.

Great what a relief because I know so many riders are well past the capabilities of the current TC system. I can't wait to be able to comfortably and safety power slide the bike into the Starbucks drive through. Very exciting.

Seriously ? You built a bike way beyond your means yet you criticise a software upgrade .
I don't get your argument sometimes it just smells really hypocritical .

I'm getting the upgrade . Anyone know if it's available yet ?

Way beyond my means? What does that mean? Financially? Get a ....... clue. From a riders perspective? How the .... do you know? It's going to take a bit more upstairs before you get it mate. I don't expect you to understand.

Get upset much ?

Financially hell no you have shown that your wealthy . Ability well I have no idea just as you have no idea wether the OP may benefit from a software upgrade .
See where the hypocritical bit comes in to play and you think I don't get it .

Maybe we should all just flop our dicks out to see who's is biggest . You go first .

Never. I just an American ..... remember. You should make the trip. I can show you some American hospitality. Everyone a bad ... behind a keyboard. You should come over and show us how it's done

You just proved yourself to be a hypocrite again . See if you do it again I bet you can .

But to really answer your question, it's apples and oranges. Your comparing hardware to software. You know how many guys who have the electronic bikes even know how to toggle that .... on or off much less realize WTF it does? 80%according to DNA and their service dept records showed that at the 3rd service interval that the settings that the bike left the shop when new were the settings that were loaded when the bike came in for service and we're talking about upgrading to a more sophisticated system. Ridiculous

The internet has allowed you to express yourself without having to back up your mouth. Enjoy it but really if you do get to the states I'd love how well it holds up.

My house is bigger than I need . My .... is bigger than it really needs to be I don't know how to do half the .... my brain is capable of ........so ...... what ?
I'm sure that 90 % of riders don't need nearly 200 HP and that's a generous figure just accept that sometimes this just makes people happy .

I'm terrified . You for real is this the way you handle yourself ?

I'm out of this forum . Thanks admin for having me it was enjoyable .

Electronc rider aids are not like power or torque which are definitely beyond need for everyday users. TC in particular is soemthing that protects us from our ambitious digital wrists. Not so long ago capable riders switched TC off for the track because it interfered too much in corner exits. Nowadays even wsbk level can benefit from maximising drive while minimizing risk of a highside. But it will always be a compromise: the lower the risk, the less the drive out of corners. So the electronics package will never be too sophisticated, there is always room for improvement, especially for us non wsbk guys. My 2 cents.

PS: Improved electronics in my understanding means that I am doing the exact same .... with all my shortcomings but laptimes will come down, or I can push harder than before without an increased risk.

Its ashame when guys like Wilkson, who has added a lot of value to this forum feels as though they can no longer be here because of all the BS. I guess thats why I don't post as much any longer. Oh well, all good things come to an end I suppose.

I would love to see the software/electronics upgrade. I had Adam at MelilliMoto add a RapidBike module for launch control and it's really nice. I'm going to be candid-sometimes I'm going around the track and I'm thinking...I wonder if my traction control is working because I can't feel a damn thing happening. I know that sounds stupid but I'm just putting it out there. Yeah, I feel the tire move, slip, etc, but I don't ever feel a huge drop off in engine power. I welcome any upgrade that Ducati gives/sells us. I think it's awesome that we live in a day and age with this kind of technology. Peace. Highside49
