Help Support Ducati Forum:

Its ashame when guys like Wilkson, who has added a lot of value to this forum feels as though they can no longer be here because of all the BS. I guess thats why I don't post as much any longer. Oh well, all good things come to an end I suppose.

My ignore list of one is doing the trick for me. First time every using it on a forum and I'm a moderator on a very large automotive forum. My skin is pretty thick too. :)

Yeah, I feel the tire move, slip, etc, but I don't ever feel a huge drop off in engine power. I welcome any upgrade that Ducati gives/sells us. I think it's awesome that we live in a day and age with this kind of technology. Peace. Highside49

I agree. Any little improvement is a welcome addition imho. It's not always about the track. I was coming home from a mountain ride and when I got to my turn off from the main highway there was traffic coming the opposite direction. I didn't want to yield because I knew they would be turning to go the same way I was and I would be stuck doing some ridiculously slow speed. So I cut the turn a little bit and faster than I normally would. What I didn't see was the gravel that was there because it's a part of the road that isn't crossed over much and it was dusk. I felt my bike slip sideways and just kept on going. I have no idea how much the TC saved my ..., but I like to think it did and without it I'd be rebuilding my Anni right now. I'll take any aid or do dad you can give me...it's why I bought this bike. I've had my MC license since I was 16, I know how to ride. But it's those oh .... moments you don't see coming that will bite you.

Tye, ah yes, I remember him. Forums are a breeding ground to over-indulge ones thoughts through the medium of a keyboard. Not all posts sit well with people. Rather depends on how thick/thin skinned you are ultimately, if you then rise to the bait.

Great what a relief because I know so many riders are well past the capabilities of the current TC system. I can't wait to be able to comfortably and safety power slide the bike into the Starbucks drive through. Very exciting.

update

contacted Ducati Berlin this week
asked them about the difference between the MY16 & MY17 1299s.
they told me the pani wont get a Euro4 update it stays Euro3 and the only difference is the Evo software as on the Anni.

they told me the earlier models cant be updated to the EVO :confused:
I should get my 1299s this week (directly from Italy), should be one of the last MY16 models but it was delayed, hope Ill end up with a MY17

Find another dealer, yours is mistaken. Mine has agreed to do the update when I get back to TX.

Electronc rider aids are not like power or torque which are definitely beyond need for everyday users. TC in particular is soemthing that protects us from our ambitious digital wrists. Not so long ago capable riders switched TC off for the track because it interfered too much in corner exits. Nowadays even wsbk level can benefit from maximising drive while minimizing risk of a highside. But it will always be a compromise: the lower the risk, the less the drive out of corners. So the electronics package will never be too sophisticated, there is always room for improvement, especially for us non wsbk guys. My 2 cents.

PS: Improved electronics in my understanding means that I am doing the exact same .... with all my shortcomings but laptimes will come down, or I can push harder than before without an increased risk.
Dont forget tire wear savings.

He is not my dealer, just asked him the question.
my actual (and only) dealer probably wont know what im asking for.. they dont know sh*t :(

Ducati upgraded our bikes with new software, new QS, and new IMU - we are waiting for parts to come from Italy :) hopefully it wont take more than 2 weeks.

Curious why you needed a new imu and qs..

My wife's bike kept dying while she was riding, 3 out of 10 times the bike would shut off when trying to take off from traffic, and the engine kept shutting off when using clutch manually.

My bike does it not often but it does the same sometimes the bike dies when i take off from traffic lights too, and sometime the engine would totally shut down while in neutral stuck at traffic lights and sometimes the bike would die when i pull the clutch (mine doesn't happen all the time but probably 2 to 3 times a month i would have this problem).

Since i made a video about it 2 other guys came forward with the same problem in another state and so Ducati decided to do a test on their bikes, found the solution and will apply the same fix for our bikes.

Merry Christmas and happy new year !!!!

If I have a 2015 Panigale S, can I get an electronics upgrade? Is that what you guys are saying? Heck, my baby is at MelilliMoto right now. If that's the case, I'll just call Sebastian about the upgrade. If I'm wrong, somebody please tell me. Thanks.

Heck, why don't you just call Sebastian and ask?

What are you getting done now?

In the thread about the Anniv. model, TJ99 specifically stated the previous 1299s CAN have the updated electronics downloaded to make them current.

Same,

This place has become a pissing contest for one or two folks.

We got software upgrade as well as IMU upgrade and QS upgrade at no cost to us so i shouldn't think it would cost you anything for software upgrade (it only takes a few minutes to download the software and install it onto your bike).

Not sure if we got Evo software though as we only got standard cans on our bikes.

Reposting from another thread...

EVO DTC and EVO Race map for the exhaust are mutually exclusive.

The EVO race map is preloaded in the ECU and unlocked with the upmap that comes with the DP full exhaust.

The EVO 1299S update was introduced with the Anniversario.

Seriously ? You built a bike way beyond your means yet you criticise a software upgrade .
I don't get your argument sometimes it just smells really hypocritical .

I'm getting the upgrade . Anyone know if it's available yet ?
Alphamale, I noticed you thanked both members of this heated debate...

Are you a politician?
