End of the road for Lorenzo?

Amazes me and pisses me off that a guy since 2010 till 2016 won 3 titles at Yamaha in that time frame and is struggling for a ride because of a bad carreer move which was because of Yamaha. While the guy across him at the same garage on the same bike can barely get 1 Race win a year on the same bike and signed a deal till 2020.

Well there are only 2 guys in the world that have a shot of beating marquez. 1 is never coming back. The other is Jorge on a Yamaha which we may never see again.

Well everyone that loves flopsi you got what you want he will be hear doing 0 till 2020. Meanwhile dorna screwed with getting what they wanted boring races with the outcome already known. By 2020 marquez will have 9 titles. Chew on that a while

Screw Lorenzo. The dude can't follow team orders, slows everybody up with his "smooth" riding style, and can't get along with anyone in the paddock. Good riddance

hahaha team orders dovi couldnt pass lorenzo and he crashed end of story.

the irony of the entire thing is that flopsi in the desire to stay relevant and get title 10 just took himself out of ever being needed to be talked about again. 2020 baring injury marquez will have 9 titles. while flopsi was never the goat he will never even have the chance to be in the conversation after 2020 making him irrelevant. oh those unintended consequences.

Cue ham fisted attempt at explaining why Rossi and Marky Marc are relevant to Lorenzo staying with Ducati

Good article, I would hate to see whoregay leave at this point, Boris wouldn't have any more Dear George material.

Funny, that post was about Lorenzo, not about Rossi...

the reason lorenzo is in the situation in the first place is because yamaha gave the same amount of money to their number 2 rider as they did to the guy that won up to that point 50% of the titles since 2010.

Rossi's 38, Im 38. I cant keep up with a bunch of 20yr olds...

Unless they are women :D

they been talking about flopsis age since 32. now danny is 32 so is dovi and a few others yet you hear nothing about their age. age isnt a huge factor in motorsports anyway.

It really is a crap deal. He isn't performing on the Duc because of his 250GP-high-corner-speed-style yet he has legitimately tried to adapt. Ducati bears some blame in this too. It's not like he forgot how to ride a motorcycle. A 3 time MotoGP champion with his last championship coming in 2015 deserves more.

problem is this suzuki is done with rins and mirs now
ktm is done with pol and zarco
yamaha has flopsi and maverick

could jorge go to honda?

then the satellite bikes.

I cant see jorge riding for a satellite bike.

I get it: Lorenzo is prickly but so were King Kenny, Sheene, Spencer, Biaggi. He just needs a good result for confidence.

I can hardly imagine any reason why HRC would be interested in Lorenzo.

Pedro is the perfect teammate to Marquez. They've got a long list of young candidates to take Pedro's seat when they need to start thinking beyond Marquez, but right now, they don't.

HRC is the favorite to win the championship through 2020. It ain't broke, I doubt they will try fixing it.

If I were Lorenzo, I would negotiate a new performance based contract with Ducati with a low base. At least he will remain on a factory team and give himself more time to learn and adapt. Problem is, it sounds like Ducati and company aren't too keen on keeping him around, and they need to consider the risk of losing their young talent in Miller and Petrux.

JLo isn't going to leave MotoGP, but IMO, he's either on the Ducati or on a satellite Yamaha next year.

The suzuki seemed to be the logical option given that it appears to have corner speed and would be ideally suited to Lorenzo's riding style but it looks like that door is shut.
Expect the pieces to fall in place over the next few rounds... should be interesting, at least more interesting than the races which are pretty much a foregone conclusion at the moment.
