I'm not sure if it's in my head or the engine really wakes up when you redline it and go full throttle a few times. Just becomes super responsive, smooth and with more power, even sound differently.
I imagine this happens to people who do alot of highway cruising.
Could this be the reason for low dyno readings for some? Maybe something emisions related, like what Vw cars did? Interested to hear if anyone else experience this.

I would swear by it, but can't deny it does get me high sometimes.

Yeah, my engine seems to develope more power if I turn that twisty grip thing on the right until it stops...........

I was pretty clear I'm talking about engine response and smoothness. For a very few people who don't do full throttle on this bike often try this:

- Turn on the switch without actually turning the engine on.
- Side stand up, engage first gear.
- Twist the throttle to the max a few times.
- Go on and turn on the engine, go for a ride and thank me later.

You mean on your motorcycle type thing that has an electronic ride-by-wire throttle and turning it without the engine running will do absolutely nothing? Yeah, made a huge difference for me........

Hence turning the ignition ON without engine running. I'm done with this thread.

So that your electronic fuel injection squirts fuel into an engine that isn't running?

Let me state my point more clearly and check the possibility of what I'm suggesting. If it is actually happening or not I let you decide.

Just like we have different riding modes such a wet, sport and race, it is possible that Ducati programmed a trigger in the FBW throttle control that dependng on the riding style engine provide maximum performance or not, due to considerations of durability, fuel consumption,....
Based on my experience rider input of a full throttle is that trigger. This can be emulated while ignition is ON and without engine running you just input full throttle in FBW to trigger the possible "hidden" mode.

Just like you can switch different mapping with engine OFF but ignition ON. The is no SQUIRTING when you switch maps.

I think you're onto something. Twisting the throttle with the engine off has actually eliminated the heat under the seat too.

But its exhausting pushing the bike up and down the street. And having to make my own motorcycle noises has gotten me a few strange looks from the neighbors

Can confirm.
Source: I'm currently really really sweaty

In rpms defense, Some ecu's must see wot for tps voltage scaling, this is how some systems fine tune fueling and or ignition timing.
