New member here looking for advice please , I have taken off the exhaust cable and finding it a pain to start sometimes so tried to put it back....it has retracted back and I cant seem to pull out more than 5mm of cable so unable to get enough to reconnect it ? help please

many thanks in advance

You have to pull a bit on the cable so the servo rotates and lets some slack out. From what I remember it won't give you enough to reach to the connection point, you have to rotate the piece it connects to (as it is spring loaded) until you can reattach the cable.

On another note- the exhaust flapper valve/butterfly (whatever you want to call it) remains open while starting the bike. So removing the cable should have no effect on starting issues.

If you have recently purchased the bike and started riding you are more likely experiencing issues with the charcoal canister and fuel venting system. It seems that the bike starts perfect for the first few rides, but then as the canister starts to get filled with fuel vapor and liquid it begins the process of hard starts.

You mean the Bowden cable? Just pull the end of the cable to let the servo motor turn and have enough slack about 2-1/2 inches then reconnect the cable. Good luck!

tight fit, everything is tight fit on these bikes, hence, patience and long hard hours for the tech to do it right= big money

have someone pull on it, then start ignition, cable will come right out.
turn ignition off and hang cable back in place.

if you have hard starrrrts, trust me, it's not the valve, remove your evaporation canister.

use the search for it. plenty of explanation
