Exhaust popping/backfire

What? Like its a problem?!?

Anyways, normal, especially with quick shifters. Gear change, ignition cut for a split second = unburnt air/fuel mixture into the exhaust system = pop/bang :D

Sounds awesome from the Akra's :D :D :D :D

So if I get popping with the full termi with no DQS, just the regular use of the clutch, that is OK?

The only reason I ask because, although I have owned this bike for 7 months now, I could never ride it because of the major weather conditions up here ( snow, rain ) in Canada.

I finally took it out for a spin but noticed popping but when I use the clutch...
Needless to say, I was pooping myself when i heard this popping because I thought there is a cylinder issue, or fouled plugs?

Thoughts anyone?

Sincerely
Pooped when I heard the pop

If the QS isn't turned "off" through the settings in the dash menu.
It will still pop because it's still activated.
Then in that case, it's perfectly normal to get the pop when you still use the clutch.

Switch the QS off in the settings menu, and it will stop popping when you use the clutch;)

Thanks Brad
I like so many have now grown affectionate to this so called "pop" and have now elected to keep it.. I have also decided to wear a diaper in case I poop myself from the sudden pop..

Update on the "pops"
I have started to play around with the RApidbike quick shifter killtimes ..
I have noticed almost no pop when I change the killtimes to a slower rate ..
Can anyone verify or quantify why this is?

Unburnt fuel in the exhaust will ignite with a loud pop and orange (rich) fire. There's unburnt fuel in there because:
-the quickshifter cut ignition and the entire mixture was dumped into the exhaust
-running rich at hard throttle and you backed off the throttle quickly going into a turn. You'll see race bikes and cars spewing fire all the time entering turns
-traction control cutting the ignition.

And you'll get blue fire (lean) on decel in gear because your dumping fuel into the exhaust for the EBC, and because you dumped fuel in there when you were running rich at full throttle. The emissions air thing might help as well.

My termi slip ons bang when I hit about 7-8k and let off the throttle. No shifting required. Love it. I do it in the driveway while its sitting there and puts out a nice smoke show....
She pops for me every where we go too though , it kinda makes me feel good....
Im about to upgrade the headers to the full termi system so I can't wait to see how much more aggressive she gets
