A friend of mine ran his 1199 in a Dyno at 85 degrees C and again at 95 degrees C. He lost 10bhp at 95c compared to 85c.

The ECU changes ignition above 90 degrees C to spare the engine. Good to know if You are racing.

Any competent aluminum welder can install bosses on a race rad to mount oem fans. You'll obviously want to do a dry mock up to check clearences first. I have this done on my R1 running an MB Motorsports rad. I had thebosses machined by my local cnc shop. All in, the job cost under $100.

I can't stress enough the importance of finding a welder that specializes in aluminum work. The walls of the radiator are quite thin and you don't want someone with a monkey fist doing the job.
