Reason I ask is because I've had 3D printed Camera mounts snap off on the track. Better make sure it's printed in Nylon.

I received mine yesterday and installed it today. How necessary is it to install the lock nut for the mounting?

It's just so difficult to find a 10mm socket with a 6inch depth.

Great.
Lock nut is not required at all. I Included it just to prevent someone from loosing the butterfly nut when mount is removed from bike.
It is supposed to stay at the end of screw and not directly locking the butterfly nut.

Doesn't fit RSV4. I may be able to get it done for other bikes in a month or two.
