Well considering it was 109 in the shade this past Sunday and we were all light headed and nauseous haha, it was a very fun day being back at a track.

Chuckwalla Valley Raceway to be exact. My first time there. Nice track. One too many double apexers, but all in all, a good track. Fastest lap was a 2'06". Many mistakes and not as fast as I'd like in some turns, but I didn't wanna push too hard on my first goings at this track. Next time haha!

Great stuff . Not much rain out there .
We are getting a new track built here were that looks much like that .People complain that its not very scenic out there but I like the idea of building a track where rainfall is to a minimum .

Haha mosdef not. It's near Palm Springs. Too hot for me. Next track day will be at Fontana in Riverside County (I think). much more mild weather. 70s would be nice haha. Bright side is tires getting warmed up fassst was not an issue.

Damn that's too hot! Probably 10lbs less after you got cooked. Nice pics!

No s**t haha! Air temp was 109, wonder what track was?!?! Tire pressures hot were climbing 6ish degrees btw. Tires wore good, which indicated good suspension setup. Wish Dave Moss were there!

Chuckwalla is a nice smooth track. Then again, it's fairly new. Very popular track amongst my local shops n their guys. I'll be out that way for sure in the near future once I finish up with my new (used) 600 track bike.

Nice, pics! I've done Buttonwillow when it was 111 in the shade and I told myself I'd neeeeeeeever do that again. :D

It looks like you ran it counter. Are you planning to do another track day at Chuckwalla? If so, try clockwise. I've ridden both directions and prefer to clockwise.

Yea it was nice and smooth. A tiny bit of elevation change makes it a lil more interesting imho. Heard Fontana is flat as s**t :(

Yup it was counter. Seemed like more lefts which I feel like I'm faster but lap times don't back me up haha. Yea I hope to do a few more track days this year. Let me know if you wanna meet up haha?!?

BTW in case Phil is reading this, got a LOT of compliments on the LOUD exhaust haha!! One guy said he's never heard a Ducati sound like this haha. In a good way of course!

And the bike in Akra tune and custom trim file were amazing! I ran most of the track in 3rd with a few hits to 4th, so I didn't really to tune on the TB quick up/down blipping shifter. Bike, shifter, suspension ALL felt great.

I think I'll like counter now since I live in NorCal. Thunderhill is majority lefts where the SoCal tracks are mostly righthanders.

I'm planning to do a Willow n Chuckwalla track day road trip later on this year. I was in SD this past week for the Memorial day weekend.

Looks like body a bit upright and crossed (not that it's wrong. Doohan won 5 world championship that way and he's one of the most crossed riders). Your head is in the centerline of the bike.
That results in additional unnecessary lean angle (impressive bike lean angle though).
If you try leaning your head more into the corners you'll find you can go faster through the corners (and make more impressive photos! Cmon, who cares about laptimes, really...). Also, the bike can lean less, giving you more safety margin (I washed out from running out of tyres / lean angles once).

Looks like an awesome day. i'm turning mad here with our southern hemisphere winter and unpredictable weather. Ah, thunderstorm just came....

Nice. I crashed my 2006 Daytona 675 in turn 1 at T-Hill. That sucked haha. Fast turn to low side in. It was downwind that day and I think it threw me off. Haven't been there since they repaved it. I used to run 2:15s there before on the 675 and I've heard everyone is under 2mins now. I liked Sonoma (aka Sears Point aka Infineon haha) the best. Laguna Seca was nice but always a crash fest. Let me know when you're down here :D
