Finally, some track day pics of Sofia and I :)

Looks like body a bit upright and crossed (not that it's wrong. Doohan won 5 world championship that way and he's one of the most crossed riders). Your head is in the centerline of the bike.
That results in additional unnecessary lean angle (impressive bike lean angle though).
If you try leaning your head more into the corners you'll find you can go faster through the corners (and make more impressive photos! Cmon, who cares about laptimes, really...). Also, the bike can lean less, giving you more safety margin (I washed out from running out of tyres / lean angles once).

Looks like an awesome day. i'm turning mad here with our southern hemisphere winter and unpredictable weather. Ah, thunderstorm just came....

Totally agree haha. It was my first track in a few years so I was just getting the hang of it again. Plus my forst time ever at this track so didn't wanna go 105%. Mostly 80-90%. I have been to a couple of race schools and they tought me what you said. I shall conquer the proper head position soon haha :D

1199 track day

Great pictures Sergio!, What tires are you and Sophia running? At those temperatures, how long did you take to warm the tires before pushing a little harder?

Nice. I crashed my 2006 Daytona 675 in turn 1 at T-Hill. That sucked haha. Fast turn to low side in. It was downwind that day and I think it threw me off. Haven't been there since they repaved it. I used to run 2:15s there before on the 675 and I've heard everyone is under 2mins now. I liked Sonoma (aka Sears Point aka Infineon haha) the best. Laguna Seca was nice but always a crash fest. Let me know when you're down here :D

I first read crash in T1 and wondered how that even possible unless some collided with you entering the track.

T Hill is nice nice but there are still some tar snakes in T3 through T5. When I rode Laguna in March, it was near perfect with only several crashes throughout the day. I could see it being a crash fest once the fog rolls in and the ground gets damp.

Nice! I was out there too, I was riding the R1M with the orange spidi suit. What group were you running?

Nice. I thought I saw the R1M but assumed it was an R1. How was that? Does it sound totally different an average high-whiny I4? I thought it almost sounded like a twin/MotoGP bike haha.

I was in A group. You? Did you get nautious too haha? It was sooo hot after 930am.

Thanks. I ran brand new Supercorsa SPs. There a shop in LA area who sells on eBay a set with the 200 rear for $390 and free shipping! I might try the SCs next time but I commute to work most days on her so the SPs give more life I've heard. Last rear gave me 5500miles. I would do the first lap at 60% then pretty much hammered it midway through 2nd lap. Never had an issue. I really like these tires. Slid the rear on a couple of exits with DTC on 2 in Race Mode.

Sidebar: It kinda sucked having to pull the high beam trigger each lap to restart the lap timer. Is the DDA the only way to not have to do that??

Yea it was a weird crash in T1. I was in too hot and probably went 60 degree lean angle and washed the front out. Lance Keigwin and I were talking about it and he thought the downwind conditions had a lot of guys in too hot in turn 1. So I'll blame that haha. I always take that turn super fast as I like to turn left a bit more than right.:D

Yeah the cross plane I4 sounds completely different from the whiny ones, the cross plank crank allows it to mimic the V4's so it sounds similar to the GP bikes like you were saying. I was in group A also, the heat was insane. A few of the people in our group were having some heat problems. I believe we talked on Instagram about riding together sometime also haha
