G'day,

Just wanted to post how happy I was today when the odometer ticked over 1000km's and the rev limited changed to 10500.

I followed every word the ducati rep told me about breaking her in and not going above the 6000rpm limit. It was hard, but finally the wait is over to let loose.

Congrats and yup, its a great milestone to pass!

It goes pretty nuts after 8000rpm and needs plenty of room if you wanna stretch her legs :)

I opened her up for the first time past 8k rpms and literally felt like I was going to fall off the motorcycle it accelerated so fast.

I'm still at 510 due to weather in so cal. Can't wait to have the first service, and map done. I'll be able to ride the duc like its meant to be ridden :)

The first time you redline through the gears it's gonna be eye opening. Any plans to take the bike on the track? That's where you really get to know the bikes handling characteristics and power. I've let many of my friends, some top racers, take it out on the track, most were skeptical after all the mixed reviews out there, and every single one came back smiling and unexpectedly very impressed.

I'm definately going to do a track day at Fontana, probably early next year though.

I'm really looking forward to that milestone. I went for a short ride before I got caught in the torrential rain yesterday, only about 50 miles on the bike total. I blipped the 6K threshold a couple times unintentionally (mb subconsciously) and liked how it pulled. But, not wowed yet though. At this rate, it'll be months before I get there... Ugh!
