Who gives a .... who loses $1000 or so more. Good lord who cares.
Yelling and the bikes ain't ecen here yet.... Jesus.

Resale wasn't in the back of my mind at all when I chose the S model. I understand I could have taken the $5k difference and bought BST wheels and Ohlins. If it was meant to be my dedicated track bike I probably would have gone this route.

I have a 600 for the track so this will be a road bike for 99% of it's life. I felt like the electronic suspension was the main selling point. The idea has always intrigued me and I'm anxious to try it out.

Not to mention this is all a turn key package. The older I get the less I want to turn a wrench. Everyone has their own justifications. I tried to with the R and just couldn't. Money wasn't the deciding factor either.

ETA: Who looks at bikes as monetary investments anyway?

Who was yelling? That was plain ole conversation.

And yes, who gives a ... when the bikes aren't even here yet. Even after they arrive it isn't going to make a difference. I'd be happy with either model.

Carnivor, the weekend is over. Did you pick up the bike?

I pre ordered my the base model last year at the bike show in Jacob Javits Center from a Jersey dealership. I called them friday and they don't know jack about whats going on with shipment, arrival, etc.

Just wondering how the heck did your bike arrive, but no one else in jersey or east coast.

I like how I can track a t-shirt every step of the way from China, but my dealer can't tell me where a crate with a motorcycle is...

The electronic suspension certainly helps mitigate the wide variance in Texas road and weather conditions. It is easily one of my favorite street-riding features on the 1199 S. I think you'll be very pleased with your decision.

I was so busy this week and I really had no time to pick up from dealership and they closed on Sunday no work is driving me crazy and I won't be able to pick it up until at least Wednesday or Thursday when dealership has late hours. Spoke to my sales associate he said that my bike hasn't been unboxed uncrated prepped or inspected yet he said that the Ducati scramblers have already been unbordx and preped they did them first as they sold more of them.

Electronic suspension in the 1199 S is not active or semi-active. Once you electronically set rebound and compression it stays there. I don't see how it can mitigate the wide varaince in road and weather conditions, unless you keep adjusting the suspension yourself.

Different story with the 1299 S. The 1299 S has an "event based" semi-active suspension, not intended for confort but rather for track and spirited riding.

The electronic suspension in the 1199 S does not require active or semi-active capability in order to be of benefit to a rider when the need arises to adjust the suspension's baseline settings on the fly. The 1299's semi-active damping adjustment essentially provides a more automated level of adjustment functionality within each setting based on the bike's momentary condition (braking, accelerating, cornering, etc.); however, when street riding, it will still be necessary to select the most appropriate baseline setting for any particular weather/road scenario (e.g., smooth roads, rough choppy pavement, low grip conditions, etc.).

Right, changing baseline settings will accomodate for different riding conditions. I was thinking along the lines of dynamic changes in the suspension.

The dynamic functionality of the 1299S suspension is definitely a step above what the 1199S DES offers. I will likely never part with my 1199, but if I were to ever pick up a 1299, it would be more for the electronic enhancements than the the additional power. I'm very impressed with the electronic features Ducati brought to the table for this refresh.

LoL, true. I was thinking that it may be good we have no tracking on where it is, then the pirates can jack our bikes:eek: if they knew the location of the ship or what ship they are on.

So close....

Jonathan,

Great news your 1299 Panigale S arrived in the USA and is in the process of being cleared for shipment to Austin. We are estimating the earliest arrival date of this Friday though more likely next Tuesday. If you have any questions let me know. We’ll need to talk about when you would like the bike set-up.

Just received a call from my dealer here in NYC with a VIN and eta of next week. (BIG SMILES) They're here guys!!!!!

We have 5 that will be here Friday, 3 of them are pre-sold and we'll have two to put on the floor! Woo hoo!! :D

Apparently there is a shipment due to arrive at my dealer on Friday. He's not sure if it has the Panis, but it "might".

I'm happy to hear that guys are getting theirs though... Means mine is near.

Anyone else in Canada waiting too?
