First bike after 6 years. V2 or V4S?

The 09 Blade had what, 170hp? If you rode that, and you're still alive today despite your self-proclaimed lack of will power (I'm guessing you meant self-control), then an extra 40 out of the V4 isn't going to kill you.

Acting the fool is what kills people. But you can do that just fine on a 155hp V2. Or a 10hp Grom.

my situation is very similar to yours, my last ride was a 2006 R1, raced CMRA for a year,30 plus years of riding various thing but that was 8 or more years ago. . its all about sizable bites, no more than you can chew, simple as that..i chose the v4 because i dont like electronic suspension. and i like power..and of course its absolutely beautiful.. still modifying it for right hand drive so i can ride, but i know it will be a handfull . it already tried to throw me over the bars on a prelim test ride. front brakes locked up. i think i got that figured out though. so forward we go.. youll love the v4 i think . its all in the wrist. more wrist more power less wrist less power. enjoy your bike whatever it is youll love it thats for sure

only on the track. LOL.. late braking is something i love dearly. this is the only bike ive ever owned that sensitive to what i suspect was just a tad too much fluid in the reservoir, it was at the line but no overfilled. im hoping its fixed with lower brake fluid level cuz dayum, having use of only my right arm makes it sketchy as hell till i get the left bar ready for use. a bit of research led me to believe it was fluid level

Fluid level near the full line affects brake sensitivity?

Be thankful you dont ride a Honda

So, quick update.

I ordered a V2 without a test ride (Stupid I know). As delivery won’t be until next year I went out and bought a 2016 ZX6R that was local to me, had a bit done to it, full exhaust, block offs, tune, filter, running 119bhp at the wheel apparently.

After going for a few rides I’m amazed how quickly you pick it back up, it really is just like riding a bike. Anyway, after riding it I must say that a 600 feels slow, much slower than I remember. Maybe I’ve got used to driving a 720bhp car or maybe I forgot the difference between a 600 and 1000

Long story short, deposit swapped to a V4S.

Should arrive around February next year, gives me some time on the current bike to properly get back and to it, and enough time to get some track days in.

Thanks for the advice everyone, you were all correct and I was definitely wrong!

I currently have a track prepped 2016 959 and a 2019 Pani V4S. The V2 is a different feeling bike altogether. It took me a bit to get comfortable on my V4S on track and I definitely find myself short shifting it a lot to keep the front end down, however, the V4S just lays into turns. Not that the 959 was bad, but the V4S feels like butter comparatively.
