I would. :)

I've always broken my bikes (and cars) in gently, but no matter how you cut it, 600 miles (or whatever the recommended break in period will be) is a lot of miles to put on using kid gloves. Having 140 hp on tap while keeping the revs low will still be a lot of fun, but I for one plan on getting all those miles on in a few days just so I can experience the full performance potential.

More HP than a middleweight is kind of the point. For those who don't want more there are plenty of bikes that will be adequate.

As for servicing....how cool is Ducati when it comes to guys who wrench on their own bikes? I'd actually rather pay to do my own maintenance (brakes, suspension, filters, fluids, etc.) than have to pay for someone else to do it.

It's 600 miles, are you really going to cry over it? You can do that in a weekend.

They're not cool with it. Not sure how you're going to connect to the ECU to uncork it yourself anyway.

Clearly British Columbia needs to make the subject of reading comprehension part of their public education plan.

That is exactly the WTF moment that happened to me! In that second or two for me to figure out what the heck was going on, I luckily pulled aside to let the car zoom by me. It was after the test ride, when I brought it up to the sales guy that he said, "oh yeh, forgot to tell you about that".
