First time Duc Owner

Hi all,

I just purchased a 1299 S over this past weekend. I have the option to add the extended warranty for 2200 or prepay for the maintenance. Should I go with one over the other? I haven't ridden in a few years so I plan on keeping it in wet mode. Prior to this I've owned a 675 in the past.

Welcome. I'd check to see how late you can hold off paying for the extended warranty. You might decide you want something else before that time.

Welcome and congrats. If you plan on keeping the bike for a few years, get the warranty. Even if you can do the work yourself, parts are not cheap.

$2200 is extremely overpriced. If you purchased a brand new bike, it comes with a 2yr warranty and you can add the extended coverage at the end of your 2yr warranty that comes with the bike. My 5yr extended warranty was like $675 from the dealer. You should definitely shop around.

Welcome. Dang, my dealer quoted me $1,300 for the extended warranty and they gave me 2 years to decide if i wanted it or not if I remember correctly... I might be wrong though. And by reading the post above mine, $1,300 is still over priced...[emoji19]

Don't know if the difference between the S and base model is enough to justify the price difference.

Yep $1200 is what I was told also.

Welcome and yea i'd shop around you have time. i didn't buy my 4yrs ext until last month of the original 2 yrs coverage over and i ended up paid roughly 300/yr over 4yrs extended warranty
