Fitted DP Tail Tidy

You got me confused again Xbox - it does look good but could you do me one favor and take a picture from the side so I can see how far it protrudes out from the tail - I think this will make or break the DP vs Evotech decision - until Rizoma throw one into the mix!!

For sure, but it'll be like the standard DP shot.

I think they factored in the whellie angle :D

Can it be angled down a bit? That's a sure fire red flag to the rozzers no matter how stock it looks...

"Well constable, it's like that so that you can still read my plate when I'm pulling a mahoosive wheelie on the M4 on ramp, after all this is the best Superbike in the world" (best said with a cheeky schoolboy grin).

Sounds like you've been reading Andy1199's new book on things to say to policemen...

It may be possible to add a couple of spacers, perhaps also using longer bolts, to the upper number plate bolts to reduce the deflected angle(?)

Definitely the best 'fit' for the bike.

Like PaddockStand said, I'd last five minutes with it here.

Yellow Sticker (for non compliance)
Have to put the original one back on.
Have to take time off work to go to get the inspection done.
Inspection costs ~$100
Have to put the FE back on.

Rinse and repeat

do that 3 times and the FE has cost me $600.

Question on DP Number Plate Holder

Hello Xbox. I'm new to this forum and I really appreciate your informative postings. I purchased and installed a DP license holder after seeing the pictures of yours. My question is on the fit between the carbon fiber cover (part #5) and the holder support (part #4). As you know, there are 1/2 "oval" cut outs in these parts that clamp the turn signal stalks. I was not able to get them to clamp the stalks securely and they can easily float around quite a bit. There is also a 1/8" gap between the parts. From your photos, I seem to see the same gap. Do you find that the turn signals are not very tightly held by the clamping parts? Also, when I stand behind the bike, the license plate light shines in my face. I know the angle will be better when the suspension is compressed but I'm still wondering if I did anything wrong here. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

The turn signals do have quite a bit of float, with my RHS boardering on droop :p Not a bad thing, as it saves them getting caught on the DP cover.

I'll check the LED, as I've not noticed the angle it shines at, but does it seem to be pointing at the plate?

I have one of these and dulled down the LED light a small fraction with a small strip of black tape.

Recently had some Highway Patrol police tell me how good the tail tidy looked.

Geez, Brad51........ What state are you in? The Highway Police didn't try and given you a Yellow Sticker?

Loose indicators

I have the same issue with the indicator stalks. They do move around a bit, having said that, they stayed in place after my ride down the great ocean road yesterday or should a say great goat track as the surface is quite chewed up after winter. I did have the boys in blue check the back of the bike.....no comment and no letters in the mail so far. Interesting you commented that there are 2 backing plates. Mine was installed by the dealer with a cut down euro plate. The one you have installed would work perfectly with my plate.....phone call time!

Rhino I've zip tied the reflector from the original plate holder below the plate, looks pseudo legal.

I reckon we'd be in way more trouble with the noise regs. My harley got stickered for noise and I tested the termis, they were actually louder!

Having similar concerns in Sydney about legality of tail tidy and not wanting to get pinged by rozzers.

I had a thought, instigated by a mate who years ago used the same material for mud flaps on an Aston V8 Vantage. Anyway, my thought was to use a piece of clear polycarbonate, cut to desired size, such that it is (hopefully) visually non existent and yet will satisfy the cops.

I haven't seen anyone else do this but would surely reckon I'm not the first.

As I'm still waiting for the general financial malaise to ease and clear funds for my Tri I have to resort to testing the theory on my 675R.

The polycabonate is being cut and I should have it fitted by weekend.

Not sure how it will look. It could be good, or conversely it could resemble "see through dogs testicles".

If anyone's interested I'll post pics.

I am in Sydney. Got chatting at the lights and they asked if they could look.

They drooled for a while told me how nice it all was then left in a hurry to chase armed robbers sirens blazing.

No talk of tickets. Maybe its how you talk to people.

Hi Guys,

The pics look awesome.....Is DP Tidy Tail the same as this links below?

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

OR

Ducati 1199 Panigale Carbon License Plate Holder (96901112A) | Pro Italia

My bike is on order but I want to save on some of the aftermarket parts or what is easy to source and install myself. The dealer said he would look after me on parts afterwards but although he'll give me a discount, I still don't think it will be as cheap as what I can find on the net..

I'm also looking for the American Euro Plate holder instead of the EURO holder......... Can I purchase this separately?

Yes - the same item in both links - as per my pics.

Re plate holders, the DP item comes with 2, as shown in the ebay pic. I'm not sure which your after, but these won't be available separately outside the DP kit.

Xbox,

In Virginia, the State Police will give you a ticket for not having a rear tail light that says DOT on it. I received a few tickets on my Streetfighter. Does the DP tail tidy say that? I know the stock LED assembly does. If it does, I will definitely buy it! Perhaps the clear cover may be interchangeable as well.

4 bucks. Quick and simple.
