I'm rooting for Andy.
Roadracerx said my question was "weird". (I would call it "diplomatic"....) 🤣

RoadracerX is one of the fastest guys on track here, with contacts and access to stuff most people don’t have…and a wealth of technical knowledge about track suspension setup that’s on par with Duessans engine tuning…so I’m going with him, even in the off chance that he is human had a brain fart in a part number that’s irrelevant to whether to use a linear link versus a progressive link.

Short version, if it’s a track bike linear link, because you’ll lose some comfort on the street, and every road imperfection will feel harsher, but you gain performance and slide mage ability.

If you ride your bike mostly or completely on the street stay with the progressive link, because you aren’t riding at 9/10’s on the street anyway, and the ride will be less harsh.

Smooth tracks, linear link, rougher roads progressive link.

@Taz it IS accurate for the Ohlins-shod bikes. I should have made this more clear. Not sure why we are talking about base models anyway. If you prefer I can just keep the info I get to myself.

@cl955 sorry if I offended you, to me the question WAS odd. I DID take the time to provide you information that was useful didn't I? My intention is never to ignore, belittle or disregard a question. If Andy provides you useful information that helps you GREAT but as his avatar image would suggest, he is here to stir the pot not take time out of his day to help you guys which I have been doing for YEARS and I have asked nothing in return. I don't need to spend my time doing this.

RoadracerX, ignore the sidetracking sillyness here lol

You’re a valuable contributor that’s needed around here along with guys like Bruce Wayne and Rick.

Also, I know it’s a Ducati forum but I sure hope you report in here on your riding and performance impressions of that WSBK spec GYTR when it gets here.

For my part, I’m not sure there’s anyone here that can provide as informed and varied reports on how the Ducatis compare to other top build bikes like the BMW Alphas, the KTM RC 8C and your Superleggera’s etc.

I’m curious, lately, when you want to lay down as fast a lap as possible which bike do you find yourself getting on and why, also which is the funnest bike at track if not the fastest etc

@andyb if I am wrong then WHY are the part number the same? I wouldn't speak on this UNLESS I HAD DONE THE RESEARCH.

brain fart, ffs! .......... he has done the research.....
The link arms p/n 37211983AA are the same for all V4 Streetfighter and Panigale models 2018-2022 as is the actual "triangle" linkage p/n: 37211971BA. You can check the parts diagrams on Ducati Omaha's website.

I HAVE installed one of these linkages on a customer's V4R which has an extended swingarm. Ohlins built a custom shock for the linkage and +30 mm Pieobon swingarm and changed the valving. I will have a look into what that change was.

I am curious about this same linkage on my 2023 V4R. I DO have that customer's bike in my garage right now so I guess I could try it and report back...

this is why we are talking about ALL..... because you said ALL......

come on, you got it wrong stop digging, the squirming, personal pokes and the smoke and mirrors is far outweighing the facts...you got it wrong.

its not the end of the world and we all move on, then talk about the different length of the tie rods that come with the forsaken rocker!

Truly appreciate all the info, but it’s already difficult to understand the subtle differences between the different year’s models, so it’s essential to be specific about what’s being discussed, that’s all.
