Hi All,

I don't know if this was posted before because I couldn't find anything related during a search. Omega10, Don Levesque from Deland, FL, was involved in a single bike crash on an on-ramp when he was on the way to a group ride on Sunday almost 2 weeks ago. He was taken to Daytona Beach Medical Center and was put in an induced coma on a ventilator. He has since been evaluated and the word I've heard second-hand is that he has some brain, neck and spinal injuries, with a broken scapula and severe shoulder injury.

He has a long road of recovery in front of him. Please say a prayer or send good vibes his way.

This is Don at the hotel from the "Panigales at the Dragon" trip earlier this year. I didn't get to make that trip but used to hang out with Don at a local bike night in Orlando.

Wow! Terrible to hear. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. What exactly happened?

Damn, that sucks. We can only hope he is lucky and pulls out and heals up quickly.

Ruined my day... News like this scares me and gets me down , no matter how bad it could always be worse hope to god a healthy recovery without severe damage to his memories, brain ,motor nerves ..... That's priceless ...

All best vibes to him for quick healing

My heart goes out to all fallen riders, I hope he comes out of this well. I can only wish for a speedy recovery.

What exactly happened?

I spoke to a mutual friend who has been in contact with Don's sister. Supposedly there was a witness that was in a vehicle who reported that he high-sided on the highway on-ramp. I live near the area that it happened at and know the on-ramp well. It actually has a nice S-turn in it and unfortunately we Florida riders that love cornering usually have to resort to hitting on-ramps fairly hard to get our jollies.

We may never know exactly what happened but my guess is that the road may have been wet from morning condensation, had a spot of oil or diesel from traffic, etc., and Don just got caught out. The on-ramp is lined with Armco on both sides and from the pictures I saw of his helmet he went head-first into the 6x8 wood supports holding up the railing.

I've taken that on-ramp literally dozens of times knee-down and it could have easily been me. I love our sport but damn it really can suck at times.

I hope Don has a speedy recovery. I've ridden with him a few times on our Sunday morning rides. Definitely sucks big time.

Best wishes to Don for a speedy recovery, and strength to his family during this difficult time.

oh dear ! all the best to Don and family... damn it... hearing this makes me even more convinced of getting my kicks on track... fingers crossed for pseedy recovery !

i feel the same way just ruined my day

hope for a full speedy recovery

Good luck and best wishes for a complete recovery, I just went through the broken collar bone and scapula deal myself earlier this year on my Panigale. The head and neck deal is the worry. Steve

Sorry to hear about the accident... wishing him a speedy recovery.. may God be with him and his family

Very sorry to hear this! Don's one hell of a rider and I enjoyed following him through a lot of the roads during our Panigale meet at the Dragon a couple months back! Hopefully we'll get to do that again some day with him. Get better Don. You'll be in our thoughts
