Mine was like yours bc the original owner squatted down the rear to lower the bike. Bad move. Picked it back up and it turns in great now

Thks for the info. N how do I do that?

Mine tended to run wide, but I had not set the sag correctly plus a few other minor but critical adjustments. Millimetres matter, even 1 or 2 mm makes a difference, also tire choice, tire wear and pressure.

Im certain the tire choice, tire wear n pressure are all good.

when running wide, you are squatting too much. setting sag will help to set base, using the correct spring rate will even help more.

Roadracerx Question

Took another spirited ride on my 2019 959 with the set up below It is pretty planted now but I'd like more bite on corner entry and getting the front end to feel planted, if I either lower the front by a mm or two or raise the rear by the same it feels a little nervous if I raise the front from where I am it doesn't feel like it wants to drop into a turn. With these clicker settings it feels pretty firm in a parking lot but firm and compliant on the road, I ride 70% twisty roads and 30% track. Any thoughts

TTX 36 GP shock at 312 and via a duc a bike adj dog bone added 5mm to the rear ride height and have my Ohlin forks FGRT 214 above the triple to the gap at the cap at 8.75mm where a stock length equivalent is 6.5 to my Showas. The Ohlin fork install states 4mm which I found did not want to turn or drop in. I'm running 40mm front and 30mm rear sag with stock Rosso Corsa's 120/70 and 180/60 currently. At 175 lbs in street clothes I will try a 90 kg spring currently running an 80 with 13 preload to achieve the 30mm sag. fork reb 11 and comp 13, rear reb 14 and comp 15.

Hey, roardracerx, I changed the schocklength to 312mm (2 turns out), was at 310mm. But I found it strange that I already saw the visible groove they make in the threat so you know you reached maximum lenght. So this means that 312mm is the maximum length I can set, is this normal for a new bought DU468? Setup data says 310mm and +4/-2mm. I have now 7 threads showing. I read here often schocklenght of 315mm. Am I missing something? Do you have an idea why this is? O yes, ride height did go up with 5mm, so should be good now.
Ducati says rake: 24.5° and trail: 100mm. Do you have tools to check this, are these numbers accurate?

I'd be interested too, my stock Sachs is set to 317 eye to eye on the workbench, and with Rosso Corsa 2's it feels great.

Hey, Paul G, how did you change the eye to eye lenght of the Sachs, did they change the internals because that shocklenght is fixed. Mine was 311mm. Thats one of reasons I changed the shock because I wanted to change the lenght and now I find out there isn't much to change!

Rikkie its really easy, there's a locknut on the forward eye, undo that and unscrew it. If you dont even have to remove to from the bike to unload it fully and measure, but its just a bit easier for accuracy.

OK, Paul G, sorry, I didn't look what bike your running. That must be a 1199 or 1299 then. I run a V4.

Can you give me advice in regards to purchasing ohlins forks(FGRT 203) for a 1199 base ? The bike has leaky forks and the price quoted to get that fixed by the dealer is $800. I was planning on just spending a little more and get a used set of ohlins forks.

I don't plan on buying any bent or crashed forks so what do I need to look out for that isn't visually obvious ? Any questions I need to ask the seller ? Any red flags or deal breakers ? Also does mileage on the forks matter ?

Going to join in the fray. First track day coming up and looking to spend time on setup.

195 (and dropping, yay!) without gear

2015 Panigale R, purchased used with K-Tech suspension

Usually on TD's (32/26 hot) sometimes SC's, I see your other comments and will target 34/28 hot

Will check sag, assume it is correct but will confirm before going on track to be 40/30mm

Currently linkage is set to progressive

Going with recommended settings from K-Tech, springs are 10N/m Front 90N/m Rear, 310mm shock length
Front (30 clicks of range) -16 from fully closed compression/-18 rebound
Rear (32 clicks of range) -12 compression and rebound
Rear Bypass Valve (16 clicks) - 8

Any feedback would be appreciated, would love to hear your thoughts on settings for the electronics as well, running DWC 3, DTC 2, EBC 3 when in RACE mode.

Cheers,
Kev

Finally got a chance to get out on my base V4 with new Ohlins suspension. Totally worth the investment. Handling and more importantly confidence is night and day. I appreciate all the tips on this thread. Certainly save me some time in figuring it all out.

Thoughts on NIX 30 cartridges for 959? Worth it? Mainly ride street but want to start taking bike to track

I assume you set up the Ohlins, before you put them on did you set up the stock suspension?
