The gearing on my bike is way too tall so I want to go down one tooth on the front and change to a quick change carrier on the back do a 520 conversion .
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the 1299 front sprockets and the V4 front sprockets . Thanks

I use a 1199 520 conversion on my V4 ... front sprocket is the same and everything else fits the same too (rear sprocket, flange, carrier ... )

What are you thinking of going to? I just picked up my V4S and I thought the gearing was high also and the low and mid range is a bit soft till she gets to 7,000 rpms. I first thought it would have a 38 or 39 rear but I was surprised to see she has a 41 tooth rear.

I have gone down one on the front up one on the back .

How do you calibrate change of transmission rate (for proper DTC and so on...)? Is there any special menue to follow in dashboard?

Regrads,

Hans

Do you have to make a change to the DTC system if you go down one on the front ??

Yes also curious if you can remove the front sprocket with pulling off the shift side rearset?

Well I'm hoping to hear back also but I did buy a front -1 just to try it. My plan for the winter is the do the 520 conversion and a titanium rear hub and aluminum rear gear +2 and the titanium hub bolt, sprocket bolts and the light weight drive rubbers. I did this on my 1299SA and didn't need to reprogram anything so I'm thinking this will be the same.

my hearing may not work for others depending on their riding but is working spot on for me . I did not need to reprogram anything .
Rear set can't remember don't think so . A yes for slave cylinder rear set no biggie if you need to

Sorry couldn't hear you but sounds like you are good to go on gearing. Thank you for the update as I am trying figure if I can get it don myself or pay to have it done.

Well I definitely wanted to try dropping -1 so I bought the super sprox 15 front and made the swap tonight. I didn't need to remove The faring or the rear sets. I was able to get the front sprocket guard somewhat off (unbolted and moved to the side) enough to make the swap. Can't wait to try it but it's looking like rain till the end of the week at the very best. I will let you guys know how she goes .......

Well we have rain for the next two days but it looks like I can ride her into work on Friday! Can't wait, I also just cut the grips off the Speciale and put Renthal super bike med on there! So much nicer and way thinner. Hated the thick black and red grips on there.

So I finally got the bike out yesterday with the -1 front and I have to say way better! I really like the change. Feels real good all over the RPM range.
