Here is a question

how often do you change your front tire?

I normaly do 2 rears for 1 front (but the front doesnt even look weared out

Anyone does 3 Rears for one front?

just a question, i know you should not be cheap on tires, but just want to know if i am doing it right

Same, I love brutal acceleration but I’m a street rider so I’m a pussy in the curves in fear of sand, gravel & other debris. This leads me to wear down the rear real quick

mid the front is still good and ur just riding on the street, I’d wait till the 3rd rear.

u need a better tire for ur ride. I’m looking into some harder compound tires than the Pirelli cause they only give me 2-3k out of the rear. I’ll figure out which tires to get later but I know it’s going to be sooner than later with my acceleration junkie wrist

I used to run the fronts for ages, maybe three or four rears to one front, the fronts always looked mint.
Then, I had a couple of crashes where I lost the front, literally the session before I was going to replace it. It cost at least £1.5k per crash, and knocked my confidence, and both crashes were due to old front tyre, despite them looking fine. And they give zero warning.
Wife recommended two rears to a front, and I haven't had any crashes since!

Sounds right. I usually put 2 rears on for every front. If you want better mileage out of a rear, check out the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III’s. Plenty grippy for the street.

I like those tires too. Harder compound in the middle is better off for me

if the rear tire is squared off from a bunch of hard straight line accelerations, I’ll push the front tire off till next time... but definitely the next time

I run the Bridgestone RS 10’s on the R1. Picked up a set for $265 shipped and got a $60 pre paid Visa card. Total $$$ for tires shipped was $205. I can purchase two complete sets of the Bstones for one set of the Pirelli Supercorsa’s. And they grip like hell too.

How do they wear for u? Is the middle contact patch on the rear hard enough not to flatten out & square off too bad?

I would say the Bstone rear wears a little better than the Pirelli but not enough to make a real difference.

IMO the Bstones are about 95% of the Pirelli’s at 50% of the price. This is for street riding of course.

Of course. I’m looking for a set of tires that will hold up to my street abuse and not square off after 2,000 miles of brutal accelerations. Looking at some meltzers to try out. A couple guys in the group role with them. Sure Pirelli has the prestige but for such a fast wear item, they’re driving the cost per mile of the red bike way up.

Totally agree with you. I’m not sure which tire to recommend for your application other than the Rosso III’s. My priority is edge grip since I seem to edge out my front and rear tires. Unfortunately that seems to come at a cost of tire life.

What do u mean, u lean it all the way over?
that’s the trick to good tire wear, don’t slow down too much in the corners...

I do find myself pushing the V4 a little harder in the curves and corners and it can totally take so much more. Very confidence inspiring, not like my 1299 fighting me and trying to throw me off like a spooked horse

As far as leaning all the way over, not sure about that but I can run the front tire to the edge with the wife on the back of the bike if I want to.. I don’t do it very often tho but it’s hard not to when your on an awesome road. When down at the Dragon I usually have about an 1/8” of chicken strip on the front when riding two up with the wife.

I hate riding my bikes in a straight line. I avoid interstates and dual lane roads as much as possible. Like on the race track, the straights are the most boring part of the track. That’s where I tend to rest if that makes sense.

I don’t think you’re too far from me when I’m in philly. Maybe I’ll see ya out there sometime. I keep an eye out for a Ducati guy with his wife on the back lol

You ever heard of Summit Point Raceway? I’m 20 min. from the track. If you ever get to WV let me know and we can hit some twisties up in the mountains.

As I get older (53 now) I find myself dialing it back more and more.. Too much traffic and road obstacles to deal with but I do like to have fun.

Yeah u really aren’t too far. Maybe someday if Pennsylvania gets over its lockdown...

my genius H2 friend taught me how to spot speed trap helichopters. Download Flight Radar 24. U can see when they’re doing an operation. They’re all over the place down here cause some knuckle heads made it to the next town over that’s supposed to take over an hour in the car, in around 20 minutes the other night

Damn we don’t have the helicopters to worry about here. Mainly just st the state police in their cruisers.
