Hi,

Did any of you guys installed FULL PPF on your Panigale?

Ducati paint it's a pretty bad..

I bought the Panigale PPF kit from UK and looks awesome very glossy, it protects and improves a lot but the kit is not full bike so I'm planning to do full tank and full side fairings.
If any of you did full ppf on the tank have you done it in one or three parts?

Thanks

22Ple paint glass protection

Ducati paint is woefully thin have a couple of stonechips.

My old R1 never got a stone chip

Yeah my friend has a new Monster 1200R with few kms and it's already losing all the varnish on the tank.. I always had Hondas and Suzukis never had any kind of paint issues.. so just decided to go full PPF just need to figure out how to do the tank as it will be the hardest part

I bought my from Motorcycles - Ducati - Page 1 - The Tankslapper and it save me a lot of paint chipped from little stones when ride behind some riders.

I think I need another set come to think about it. it had been 2yrs now since I put them on and they are peeling off from the stones

This one looks pretty good the front and the tail is full protected just the side fairings left to cover

unfortunately, having film on the paint never looks as good as the original paint, and so it depends what look you are going for. For my daily use MV F4 I have film on various wear parts but for my not oft used bikes, I have not gone the route of applying PPF.

Yes I installed it, do it on all my bikes.

Barely visible if you get it on right.

Right now I have full nose and tail done on my bike it looks much better than without the ppf and my bike is like new.. I have the same PPF on my car and it really gets very glossy

What ppf are you using or have you seen?
Have you seen full ppf on cars? You can be sure it gets better than without and all the swirl marks just disappear

Just ordered the Xpel Ultimate in gloss for the whole bike. $139 taxes included.

I watched a YouTube vid of a guy putting it on. It looked labor intensive, but he said Ducati does not put a clear coat on top of their paint. Don't know if that is true but if it is, this stuff would be a wise investment. A good clear coat is what you need to prevent minor scratches from getting too deep they can't be buffed out.

I got the tankslapper full kit just after I got the bike about 5 years ago. Has saved the paint a few times. Especially the tail with my lazy boot swinging over to get on the bike and hitting the tail area.

Getting road grime under the edges now, which I cannot get out. I did find it hard to put on though. Tried using a heat gun for some of it but that made it worse.

spray soapy water on the adhesive and the bike part - spray your fingers as well...to avoid finger prints on the clear film adhesive

spray alcohol mist underneath to seal it down and squeegee it out - easy peasey

For sure as Ducatis "clear coat" melts like butter.. on my brand new Multistrada had two fairings changed under warranty after few months because of paint issues.. take a look at my video where the sun is reflected.. that's why I want all my next Ducatis full ppf covered

Xpel gloss looks great and loads better than ventureshield, if your not sure about applying it have a Pro do it, well worth the extra few bucks
