FuturisMoto Tail Tidy Question

@WyldCFH Thanks a bunch!

I can't believe I didn't try that.

When the bike is on they blink normally. Bike off, its all jacked up. Funny thing, if the DRL is on or off it effects the blink rate but not in a consistent way.

I even over paid for some resistors with the correct plugs to plug right into the front signals. Crap.

On a side note: I put my baffles back in and I struggle to hear a difference.

The V4 is outfitted with all LED lights from the factory so you don’t need resistors. They are already in the circuit.

does it matter what it does when it’s off? You don’t need to signal a turn if it isn’t running. You can email Futurismoto directly. Kyle is very quick to get back to you with an answer.

Of course not but people won't initially test it with the engine running which will lead people to think they have a defective product or need to add a resistor.

Hilarious. You might get a response from his wife in a couple of days. I ordered and paid for my tail on July 26 and received it in the first week of November. Over the course of my 100+ day order from payment to delivery she responded to more than one e-mail and provided projected ship dates which were missed three times.

I don't know if you know the guy or are just on his sack but you might suggest better production methods to have better yields. Number one, why the F is it CNC machined and anodized aluminum? The part neither requires that level of precision nor finish durability. Especially considering the plate frames are powder coated. Second, if you have production problems in which your anodizer is wrecking parts and causing delays, why are you still using that anodizer and why haven't you switched to a process you can more closely control?

In hind sight, you can Amazon a NRC kit and have it in a day for over $100 cheaper. My bitch with the NRC kit is that they mill out plexi for the LED strips but leave it in a very rough finish which makes it appear white at first glance. You can sand it and polish it which is what I did on the tail for my 1199. Clear they look great. NRC can deliver a product that is slight less refined but they can actually deliver it in a timely manor.

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush.

Ok, lets see them. Post a pic.

My point was they can actually deliver something in a timely manor and I said it wasn't as refined. I'm not taking up for NRC in your case of rusty bolts but I didn't have that problem with my 1199 and the NRC kit.

I just received my brand new Futurismoto tail tidy (which I had great previous experience with on my 2018 V4 Panigale) and finding it does not fit the V4 SF at all?

Has anyone else actually received and fitted one?

I was convinced the V4 panigale and V4 SF tails were identical but they clearly are not.

I've got one fitted on mine.

I will say it is much easier to install with the tail cover off.

Can you share some pics of yours installed, namely the section behind the plate where mine isn't sitting flush at all?

Thanks,

I was expecting a bit more significant...

Your problem may be more of a Florida thing.
That first pic I posted was taken a few days after I installed it and a couple days later it got more rusty

I would think If these bolts or the entire kit was for indoor use that it would say so and not be sold for a motorcycle. It’s not a big deal to replace these with quality components but why even include them with the kit.

Instead of replacing just the bolts, I’ll replace the entire thing with one from Futurismoto. I
these components were just going to be placeholders

NRC did send me new bolts but they look exactly the same so I’ll save them fresh for when I sell these if I can find a buyer

did you get your beautiful Futurismoto one fitted? Are you running it tucked?

Tucked for sure. It was easy to install.

It got quite a few nods at the dealership this last week. They were familiar with the NRC kit and like me, thought the FM is the best looking tail kit on the market.

The FM kit uses black oxide hardware too but in the midwest we don't have the salt problem riders in Florida would. Just from the looks of things you have a lot of oxidation going on with the NRC kit, beyond rusty hardware.
