I have close to 800 miles on my panigale V2. During the last service they said they saw gas in the charcoal canister. The recommended to not overfill when I do the gas.

The problem is that I put usually 2 gallons when I see the orange status light warning for gas. So I recently reduced to 1 gallon only when I see the light but I can barely do 50 miles or less before I get again the light. Any advice?

the charcoal canister is there to catch the fuel vapors, and prevent a little puddle or wet spot under your bike, or the strong smell of the vapors. When I get home from a ride, i'm usually only 1/2gal remaining and the fuel will boil in the take for an hour or so...

Thats just some context and background.

You should just remove the canister completely, plenty of guides here to show you how. then just route the gas tank vent lines (youll have to add a "T"), to the bottom of the bike. That canister, when it gets full, can cause starting issues...its not worth the trouble my man.

If you wanna leave the canister, then yes, under fill the gas tank each time by at least 1g.

I think dealer mechanics misattribute gas being in the canister as a symptom of the gas tank being overfilled.

The EVAP being inadequate for the amount of vapor coming out of the tank has been a problem since the 1199 in 2012.

Heat boils the gas, vapor is taken to the EVAP where it condenses back to a liquid.

do you have stock gas cap still on your V4 BP?

I have shift tech keyless and when i get home the pressure on that cap is excessive! I even removed the T in the vent and have two vent lines now with no obstruction. But it simply cant keep up with the boiling 1/2 gal of fuel when i get home...

No, I have a LighTech, p/n TFN212SIL. It fits a Ripper gas nozzle, which next to a folding chair is one of the best track accessories.

Both the overflow and vent line on my tank are routed to a catch can that’s zip tied to the left fan support.

The thing is that I don’t have a gas gauge or indicator on the V2, so I never know how much gas is remaining, so how do I know if I overfill it or not? usually I try to leave 2 to 3 inches or refill only 1 to 1.5 gallons max if I can see the bottom of the gas tank.
