Just traded my ZX10R in as a deposit against the 1199.
It arrives on my drive in April 2012 so thought I'd pop into this forum to see what others think of the bike.

Hey Scoop, welcome to the site, happy to have you here with us!

What year ZX-10R did you trade out of? How many miles? And what prompted the switch to the 1199?

I like the ZX10R. They really pull hard. My Wife has the 08 , and loves it ! That said , the 1199 is gonna be ........ quick !

hey scoop , welcome to the forum, did you use Ducati coventry??

The zx10 was a 2007. Loved it to be honest and was sad to see it go.
Having said that, it went for the right reason - a nice rampant panigale.
It went at about 5500 miles - work commitments meant it never really got the road time it deserved.
With the panigale I'm just gonna have to reorganise my work around it :)

Ordered from Coventry Ducati, it's just around the corner and it kills me to drive past it every night on the way home from work - still no 1199's in the window lol.

Guess I always wanted a duke.
My brother had the 916 sps and I reckon that was a turning point for me.
I was just waiting for the next step change and with the 1199 it appears to have arrived :)

Know the feeling, my R1 went last week. Panigale due to arrive in April, probably about the time it'll warm up :)

Its amazing how the 1199 attracts owner from other brands, a very good sign for Ducati, i hope this help backing them up and keep making awesome machines.
Previously weighting the 10' 848 and 10' CBR1000RR, then took home the CBR for 1 season, as soon as i hear the dealer taking order for the 1199, the CBR was traded in, no weighting this time haha. To me the 1199 was that attrative.
Welcome Scoop101!

yep, my speed triple which ive had some great fun on and love, will form part of my down payment for the 1199 would like to keep them both but finances wont allow it, Ive always promised myself a ducati before the back decides its had enough of the racing stance and the 1199 it is!.

Thats a nice ride, must be hard to part...:(

yep i,l be sorry to see her go...but i expect the sorrow will only be short lived! would def reccomend them though to anybody looking to go down the street bike route, 130bhp and great fun to ride and because there.s no wind protection it keeps you to a licence keeping top speed.

Ahh - finally worked out how to get images on here.
Heres my old baby - bless her, she served me well :

good point, my 10' cbr with stock exhaust was so smooth and quiet, that i found myself keep being at stupid speed just by cruising around, the wind blash definitely helps you stay in check...
