Stock sprocket teeth setup is 16 tooth front, 41 tooth rear…16/41.
I had changed it before tracking the bike to a 15/43 setup that dropped top speed by about 20 mph but gave the bike a lot more lower end torque…I thought this would be a good idea because I’m a bigger rider….and it is a pretty good setup for hooliganing around on the street.
But it make the Ducati’s already twitchy throttle control significantly MORE twitchy, and made the bike much harder to learn on at the track.
This morning I changed it to the Superlite Quickchange setup, and change the sprocket tooth setup to 16/40…just a bit longer than stock….throttle control is MUCH better, much less twitchy.
I was running a 520 setup already, but was using a steel sprocket by CNC RACING…the one I put on today is the SUPERLIGHT Aluminum sprocket…remarkably that got rid of close to a pound of rotating mass.
