Hi everyone, after becoming the owner of a lightly-used 1199 (standard) I figured it was time to join this forum. I used to have a 2015 monster 821 and it was recently totaled due to a chain snap (I know). So I did some shopping and found a 2014 panigale 1199 with ~3K miles. Just a note, this bike is not a track bike, it's on sport mode, and I typically ride under 8K RPM's. With that being said, I was hoping you guys could give me some general advice about the bike. I also have a few specific questions I'll add below. Feel free to only answer what you want.
1) When I'm holding it steady at about 5-6K RPM's in first gear I notice that the bike surges quite a bit (kind of like it's trying to decide if it wants to go faster or slower). I can't tell if this is just an insanely sensitive throttle, something to do with TCS, or something more sinister. Anyone else have this or know what the deal is?
2) I'm trying to install some R&G frame sliders and it looks like I have to take off the suspension assembly. This requires a frame lift or something that can lift the bike around the swingarm pivot. Has anyone else installed something that required this? And if so, did you actually use this special lift or did you manage to use something else like a standard car jack? Otherwise I have to take it to the shop to get them installed
3) How the heck can I make this thing more comfortable?
Thanks for any help or info guys!
