Completely excited and can't wait to get on her. though I'm getting what some of you may call the ...... 899 I'm still in a great mood. I have waited weeks for it to come in stock. So thank you to everyone that helped locating parts for me. Fehad thanks for the parts you sold me. Just an all around thank you to everyone. The 1199 was just to scary for me fellas. Will post pics when I put all my mods on. With the amount of money I spent on mods I know all of you would call me stupid and say should have gotten an 1199S lol. Good night all!
 
Who cares what the masses think. Its for you not them. As long as you ride it doesn't matter.

Mate - great bike!! Ride for yourself - who gives a .... what anyone else thinks, besides majority of 1199 riders will never even get near the capabilities of the bike and whats more you will enjoy commuting/casual city traffic way more than a 9 (my 9R is a POS in traffic! Well done buddy - enjoy the ride, bloody nice!
 
I haven't had the pleasure of riding one, but I hear nothing but good things from guys that have. Congrats and enjoy!
 
Enjoy your new bike brotha! Anybody that tells you she' less than theirs, probably spends too much time checking out other guys junk in the locker room. Certainly not someone who's opinion I'd put any weight on. Have fun.....and let us know what you think!

this is true for even most 600's lol! not too many people actually push their bikes. i do but hey...whatever. the 899 is gorgeous man have a blast!

Awesome! Enjoy the new bike and as all have said, It's all about what you want/enjoy/feel right on. Live it up! I just took my 1199R last Wednesday night, so still smell like fresh Pani!
 
I hope it was extremely obvious that I was just playing off your comments....I think the 899 is an awesome bike and it has plenty of power to play with. The bite is not as extreme as the 1199...but there is plenty there to scare you if your not careful.

I put about 50 pretty hard miles on my wife's 899 this weekend and it was pure fun without some of the 'Oh ....!!' moments that would have occurred on my 1199. Very balanced and docile for traffic riding if you have to but it can kick up the Adrenaline plenty as well. And the sound is pure Ducati....that was one of the things I could not stand about my wife's CBR and I would have changed given another few months in my garage.

These bikes are so much more than can be explained via text....no matter what size you get they make my heart skip a beat with the absolute enjoyment they bring to me.
 
Don't worry what anyone else thinks. As long as you're happy that's what really counts. Everything that I've heard about the 899 seems pretty positive. Enjoy your new bike.

Trust me when I say no one is going to think your stupid for spending money on mods. Enjoy the bike and keep safe.
 
150hp on 200 kg on a bike that looks the dog bollocks, I think its excellent, good choice and all the best with it!
