Does it take off tax in checkout on the Ricondi site?

No you still pay the 10% AU tax. Compared to other gloves with similar features you are still getting a great price if you live in the US or CA. I could be wrong but thats why I am going to do a moderate review when I get them. Maybe Smarty will send me a sticker or something.

We Americans love free things:D

Ordered those same Ricondi's...should be great gloves...hadn't heard of them before. I ordered a 9 and a 10...see which one fits and return or sell the other-

The Ricondi's look nice...might just order them, but they seem a little thick. Problem is, that I live in Miami and need a good street glove. Likely will have to be mesh and short, otherwise I'll faint from dehydration. Any insight for a few good short mesh riding gloves for the endless and humid summer?

I understand your concerns about the heat but mesh really isn't going to give any protection if you have an accident. Perforated leather will be your best bet or something that allows decent airflow in. Try these:

received my Ricondi gloves, but seems the Large is 1/4 to 1/2 size bigger than what i'm used to in other (Dainese, A*s) large sizes.

Will sell them and maybe go for Medium later...

So my review of the Ricondi gloves:

I ordered a size 9, same gloves everyone else has ordered based on Wilkson's recommendation.

The materials are good, the finger bridge is above the third finger and pinky finger instead of between like Alpinestars. This works better for me and has a better feel to it. The bridge is constructed of perforated elastic with kangaroo leather on top of that for plenty of protection. Also sliders on the pinky finger of each glove.

The palm area has both kevlar and CF. This is important because in the event of a crash our first instinct is to put our hands down to stop ourselves even if we think that we have stopped moving. This should prevent wear through because lets face it, nothing is worse than not being able to wipe your own ass.

They appear to be a tad longer in the gaunlet area than Alpinestars and I for one enjoy the leather instead of the mixture of hard plastic/cowhide in some other gloves. There is double stitching in the areas where is counts.

Things that could use improving: The velcro strap for the wrist could use more velcro (easy fix), The coloration/dye of the gloves and logos could use moderate improving.

I would recommend these gloves to anyone as they are very comfortable and offer great protection for the price point.
