Day 2 is looking real good too, Crazy Joe in second place .018 off Marquez with Dovi in 3rd .250 off. Yes I know they get the softer rear tyre , but so what this is a new bike at the bottom of it's development curve!

Finished out with Dovi and Iannone in 1st and 3rd, sandwiching MM93. What tire, I wonder...

According to the pics and this one below. Iannone and Dovi were running the medium and hard compounds while the other top 10 were running soft tires

Just looked at the final result, Dovi was the only one in the 54's very impressive. The final say will be the race, but it is sure nice to see Ducati at the top of the time sheets.

Should see some longer runs tomorrow I'd think, and that'll tell more about race pace. Most today were short ones to tweak this or that looking for speed, although Iannone did a dozen on the trot at the end in the mid 1:56's (about 1.5 sec off his best). Rossi put up a string of five 1:55's in a row late, and Mr. Metronome JL99 did a similar stint with an average variation of well under a tenth - dude is a machine...

I liked motomatters' speculation on the return of the winglets on the GP15; "perhaps to suppress fifth and sixth gear wheelies".

That would be VERY nice.... Very nice.

In contrast look how the Aprilia bikes game out... They have some work to do.

I REALLY hope this year is not all Marquez winning the first 11 races gain. I am a HUGE fan, but I really hope it's a more competitive this year.

Hopefully this get bikes them a win or three. Gigi knows what he's doing and I have no doubt it'll make Ducati a threat very quickily. It should at least make the racing more exciting. The Ducatis have usually done well at Qatar also so that plays into their favor.

They also seem to know that if they drop their times any more, that people will start to notice. Smart move not using the extra-soft option just yet.

I think he's trying to say that he believes that Ducati's gameplan is to not win enough to bump them out of the Open class ahead of the changes for next season. Which means he doesn't have to worry about them over the course of the season.

Mind you, this is my theoretical guess based on a couple responses in an interview that has likely been translated into two or three different languages.

Beating both factory Hondas and both factory Yamahas three times to the top of the box three times is going to be a chore!

Not meaning to seem negative but its not been unusual for the Duc to put in some good quick laps.. But race distance is where they needed to improve. That has not yet been demonstrated at the tests.
I want Ducati to win as much as all of you, but I'm thinking this test may not be truly indicative of their chances at this stage.

Still.... If they can put it on pole in a few races and if they are still having tyre issues from mid race distance maybe they can hold up the late chargers to win??

Just over a week to go and it will all become apparent. I think regardless of whether Ducati have the bike competitive full race distance or not, there's still the issue of a freak of nature with a big number 93 on the front of his bike that they have to deal with.... Bring it on!!!!!

Well I don't know about anyone else but all I am looking for are improvements....and the GP15 seems to be that ....:)
