Curious if anyone has experience with the GPS + DDA features you can use on the 1199 Panigale?
I've read the basic so understand you can use for lap times and some other data but is it any good; useful for tuning performance features?

Can you use if for anything more than this with the GPS features?

Hey Seth;

Curious what you learned about the DDA. My Tricolore has DDA transponder in the nose already. Do I just need the dongle to plug in the tail to use it? Also, do all the Panigales use the same dongle?
Thanks,

From what I understand yes but I've never tried it yet. There is like a USB that plugs into the rear and then after you ride you plug it into your PC and download all the info and review it with the program designed for DDA.
It gets mixed reviews overall, I still wanted to test it out but have not yet, it's on the to do list maybe next year

its a good device if you use it regularly, and obviously track focused data sets.
it will give you a graphical trace of DTC, ABS intervention aligned with the Gps overlay for your circuit. and throttle, brake pressure, speed and gear ( im sure i forgot some)

I feel that they could /should have invested some more effort to develop this, as it could be a better tool.
one frustration is that you need to turn it on every time you turn the bike on, (data security I guess)

I have it on my 1199 and on track use it to see where I have messed up. /improved

It's for analysis of laps, not for tuning. I have the tricolore as well so it's the DDA+. You need to download software and use the dongle. It'll pull a Google map and overlay your position to it. Graph shows speed, throttle position, abs, traction control, and gear. I'm sure the bikes with more electronics would also graph a few more things.

Do I have to buy the specific dongle for the 1199s Tricolore or will any dongle work? Anyone got one to sell?
Thanks for the comments.

If you did not have one would you buy the OEM one or are the better aftermarket solutions on the market now?
