Hello everyone!

Waiting on my new Pani!! Should be here by the end of the month..Sold an 1198s Corse to help pay for it...after riding the Pani on a DRE course!

Cheers

Welcome...Given your economy there I would think you would be in a very small and select group ?????

Kalimera.

Good luck to your new bike, hope you get it really fast.

Thanks for all the greetings guys!!

Yes things here are really bad right now...Buying this motorcycle is definitely not the most rational thing I've ever done and I wouldn't have had I not managed to sell some property recently..If by small group you mean ducatisti as opposed to motorcycists in general then yes it is a relatively small community but an active one...If you mean motorcyclists in general then the percentage of people riding here is huge...you can easily ride a good 10 months out of the year..there aren't that many people buying new bikes right now though especially large displacement ones..

@JeffD

Buying a base and building is a really exciting idea and it has crossed my mind a few times...thing is I don't really have the knowledge, patience, experstise etc to go through with such an endeavour. I intend to use this bike on the track, where in terms of riding skill I feel I don't belong in the medium group but neither do I belong with the truly fast guys, however I also intend to tour with it and take it on the occasional quickie through some twists. With that in mind the R seemed to make more "sense" since what's included will surely do fine..

Cheers!

Yeah I did mean Ducati riders not motorcyclists in general... Anyway welcome to the madhouse and have fun with your bike...Hopefully your dash will work good first time...:)

Awesome. No matter how much you build up a base, the R will always have the "ultimate" motor. Have fun with the touring part though, unless it's all twisties, I can't ride the bike more than 200 miles a day just sitting in the saddle not moving around.

The longest possible distance you can ride on a freeway(interstate) in Greece is about 650 miles and you really have no reason to do this. Most times you wouldn't ride for more than 200-300 miles before you venture of to more interesting routes. That's a distance I could manage with the 1198 if the pace is relatively spirited and the Pani is definitaly more comfortable.

I am hoping to be able to make it to next years Isle of Man TT though and that's a about a 4500 mile trip...should be interesting:)

Cheers
