No, these are the weirdest things for a bike (I could see it on a Jap bike) and completely pointless. Also why would you take away from the beautiful front end??? No need whatsoever...

Completely pointless? Can you explain why Nicky Hayden was running one only on the right side during the R launch? I'm sure he thought it was useless.

Did he request that it be on his bike? Was Spies running one? If it was a needed piece to have why not make it bigger so it actually does something for you...Also I could have been more specific as saying I ride on the street and the speeds I ride on the street its not needed. Even on a track I dont see this doing anything for you...Why wouldnt the fairing just be wider on all bikes from the factory rather than this clip on thing being supplied on bikes randomly and available for removing? If it really made an impact and lowered lap times they would make it a part built into the front fairing...Didnt see it on Bayliss's bike...

Never heard of them before. Definitely did not come with my base bike. I have not experienced any great need for them either. Maybe it's because I traded a Goldwing for the Panigale that my dealer knew I would not want them or I would have kept the Goldwing.

I have them installed a) because I like the look and b) have an unproven theory Ducati designed them to help reduce the apparent high speed weave some experience.

Oh and c) they make me look relatively thinner on the bike.

a) they look terrrible which is why they are not on there to being with
b) everyone knows the weave is caused by heat
c) you'd have to add fairing extensions to the back as well

I have them, painted red from the factory. My dealer said they add a few klm/h to the top end as an aerodynamic advantage.

Problem is that they are not removable as the fairing will be permanently marked after fitment.

I may add them to a set of race glass for my track day use unless someone does want to purchase them. Money changes everything. :D

Just an observation fellas, they are not fitted to Hayden or Spies launch bikes. It is the shadow from the angle in the above pic which makes it look as if they were fit to one side and not the other.

Go to the garage and look at your baby closely! She has a contour which given the right angle and light will reproduce this optical illusion.

So they add the top end the 41T takes away! Perfect,

The extra 500 rpm added to the R makes up for the top end speed loss of the 41 tooth sprocket.

So if you were inclined to add these horse blinker type things you just may go faster again!

Nope, there's a whole thread on it, that was just a low quality pic.

What was that thread tittle Frosty, I would like to check it out!
