Have you installed the fairing extensions?

Completely pointless? Can you explain why Nicky Hayden was running one only on the right side during the R launch? I'm sure he thought it was useless.

I thought it was to reduce the air flow on the brake lever at high speed therefore reducing possible front brake drag.

I have them installed a) because I like the look and b) have an unproven theory Ducati designed them to help reduce the apparent high speed weave some experience.

Oh and c) they make me look relatively thinner on the bike.

I am still undecided about installing them or not but after reading Marc's option c I think it is a must.
My only concern is cleaning the bug splatter in the gap between the fairing and the extension.

If you view the full size version of this picture, you can clearly see the seam where the extension is installed on the throttle-side of the fairing.

Yep I have them. Prefer the wider profile of the front

I'm surprised they include these with bikes shipped anywhere other than the US. I was told they were specifically designed to combat HFSism by widening the slipstream so why would you need them elsewhere?
