One might refer to a swashbuckler as one who partakes in activities, deeds, or adventures of a "swashbuckler".... i.e "pirates," looking for a treasure or even "butt pirates" and their encounters with the primordial "nugget."
Of note, most books are about swashbuckling in the days of yore, espousing piracy..
Conversely, an argument could be made that if making reference to the "Unraveling King Richard III's Secrets," one's promulgation might glean a compass that "If that happened, it was probably the work of the swashbuckling and mysterious Sir Edward Brampton!".......
