He made the switch, Yami to Pani

My Hungarian bud who's got the most modded R1 from Europe I've laid eyes on ($12k in Italian upgrades from my quick glance, probably more like $16K) rode with me 3 times now and was so mesmerized by my Pani I took him to my dealer and hooked him up with a demo ride an the "S".

Unfortunately he probably won't get a decent trade so....who know.

We put 200 hard miles on this puppy tho, video in the works ;-), enjoy pics for now. You know its a good demo ride when you are gasing up for more

Awesome R1 set-up...though it would have been nice to have the 50th anniversary Yamaha white/red painscheme on it!

I agree, simple and clean. Every mod is practical...This bike is nicer than a lot or serious privateer race bikes I've seen.

Haha, all that super nice stuff and he went with Ottimoto Hong Kong rearsets. I did very similar upgrades to my R1 but I went with Sato copies from Bohemian Racing, so I'm just as guilty...

Despite all those mods, my Pani runs circles around my modded R1. It can't quite match the MotoGP sound out of the Graves Ti Low-Mount exhaust, but handling and acceleration are on another planet.

And you're absolutely right, with all his mods he still drools over my Pani and agrees I easily have the better bike out the box.

Pretty sweet! I am a fan of Yamaha's, had an 09 R1 up until April when it got stolen from the university campus

But after exactly 3 months of dealing and fighting with insurance and such I finally got back on a bike and upgraded to a 2013 base Pani with ABS. I'm so hooked. Loving every hot fast minute of it.
