Heat shield up close

you are...absolutely 100% correct. This place sucks big donkey kong ..... :(

At least you have the dry heat. You sweat walking outside 6 am during summer time here.

Spent some time at Camp Beauregard in the summer in the 90s. Never. Again.

Yeah right... Leather when its a 105f+???? I don't think so... and just like ...... traffic happens too... so please be realistic here....

i dont think its the weather that has the big affect, more about the travel speed, my bike have seen everything but traffic, hence i dont have a heat issue

Don't they have traffic in Boston anymore? Last time I was there they had nothing but traffic. Most of it seemingly caused by ceilings collapsing in tunnels. Time before that it was traffic from all these idiots running around with numbers pinned to their backs and the time before that it was from remnants of the 'big dig'.

Was doing okay until I reached the third picture. It looks like the exhaust has cancer. No wonder they tried to release the bike with a sleeker heat shield.

Here are a couple I took up close today that show a bike with the new heat shield next to a bike with the old heat shield so you can get an idea how it looks from a couple angles. The red one also has the head covers installed.

Pretty hideous, I won't be making that mod anytime soon.

For some reason these pics won't show up for me. I'm guessing others aren't having this problem since they posted replies...

As I mentioned above, Ducati is instructing all dealers to install the shield on every in-stock Panigale- so not sure why you see one with and one without here.

My dealer had received all the parts from Ducati, but had only installed them on one bike. I figured it was a perfect opportunity to snap a side by side pic before they did the other one. I'll probably do the install at some point this summer depending on how bad the heat is. It got up there yesterday (60 ambient), but I am still on the fence with what exhaust to do (full termis come with a nicer looking matte heat shield) so I may wait until I make a final decision. I'll likely take it in once to do the melted fairing, full termis (maybe) and the sprocket stuff. Just had an idea - I'll wait until I need tires (1300 miles on the OEMs) and then do it since I never bought that doodad to do tire changes at home.

That's a good idea, will maximize your service dollars! I had to buy 2 of those changers, one for my front and one for my rear, because the 2 wheels looked like they were different.

Do you hate the huge plastic shield next to your quasi-beautiful fiberglass rear fender? Enough to get full termis? :)

Almost- my CF love is waning recently. I'll see Tuesday when I pick it up. I also am fitting the fairing extensions.

You mean the Hayden handguards? That's one I haven't considered. I don't think the shield looks that bad, but it does annoy me that a CF option isn't available for non-full termi systems since we shelled out the money to upgrade the fender and this sits like right on top/next to it.
