Heat shield up close

You mean the Hayden handguards? That's one I haven't considered. I don't think the shield looks that bad, but it does annoy me that a CF option isn't available for non-full termi systems since we shelled out the money to upgrade the fender and this sits like right on top/next to it.

No, the extensions that came with the bike. I only got the CF exhaust shield for its thermal properties. So if the new one is better, then yea, the fender looks stupid. So I may put the old fender back on. You know, for that pre-CF retro look lol.

I read all the "heat issues" threads and I was not sure where to post my thoughts, I am just a new owner of a 2013 panigale S, just got it 3 days ago and already rode it for over 300 kms, prior to buying this bike I read the forum and noticed all the heat issues threads, now when I actually have the bike I can say that I do not notice any heat coming from the exhaust manifold, there seems to be the new shield installed on my 2013 model which I am easily able to touch with a hand after long ride, but

!!!I am still noticing some serious heat issues!!!

but they are not coming from the exhaust manifold, they are coming in my opinion from the cylinder head (is that how this is called in english? its at the top of the engine right under my balls), it makes the seat very hot and it makes the fuel tank very hot as well, and this is exactly the two places where my balls are touching the bike :) Keep in mind that I am riding in leathers and the weather now is just a slight spring, not very hot yet, I also noticed that even though I can touch exhaust manifold cover with a bare hand and do not get burned, I am unable to touch the cylinder head cover!! it burns!! I am not sure what to do with this, currently its not a deal breaker but I would love to have children in a couple of years, I was thinking of putting some kind of a heat cover under the seat and possible on the fuel tank, any thoughts?

Oh I forgot to mention that I am not showing off the bike in the city at 50kmph, I mostly rode freeway at speeds exceeding 150kmph and the heat was still an issue!!

It would be nice to know the real location, where is dasdsda?

Heat issues at 150 km/h?

yeah heat issues at 150, I feel how the seat is terribly hot!! location: Poland

Let me tell you and you already know it. That heat shield on the exhaust is a critical component if you ride hard in the heat or slow in traffic in the heat. The seat gets hot, even the taller seat, which I use. It will bake your ... and upper leg and you know it! I am thinking to add some more layers or heat protect there to make distance riding in the summer more bearable.

Go to your local auto parts store and buy some heat reflective tape. Take your seat off and coat the bottom with the heat tape. Makes a world of difference, only costs like $10 and 10 min of your time.

Jet-Hot your pipes and the heat shield. It has reduced my underseat/right leg heat by at least 75%. Its completely tolerable and I forget about it most of the time. I posted pics of mine a while ago.

NOLA

I actually have this tape you are talking about and am thinking of putting in on there. Question, The computer is under the seat, no? If I block heat at the seat it may hold much more heat just under the seat. While I know that there are cooling passages to run air through their, I am concerned for the heat that would otherwise conduct through the seat and into my leg will stay within the rear subframe. Summer is getting freaking hot! Thinking of getting a cooling vest today hehe.

I have had mine taped for the last 1200 or so miles (I live in the desert) and have had no problems. I dont remember if there is a computer down there.
