I'm running the FGRT 203 forks and the DU 466 rear shock on my 1299 and love the way the bike feels. I installed this set up back in May and wish they made black ones for the 1299. What was great about the set up was that when I placed the order for myself as well as other guys who order them from me is that all I needed was their weight and riding ability. Ohlins set up the Sag on the forks as well as the rear shock to between 5mm of where they should be in their opinion. As well as putting in the correct NM spring rate for the riders weight. Of course if you didnt like those setups you can always dial them in to where you want them to be. But at least its between + or - 5mm because of how Ohlins set them up. Whereas on my Harley when installed a set of ODC 14.2 piggy back rear shocks and ODC inverted front end I had to play around with the front and rear.

They are great, but you can get the nix30 cartridge kit for half the dough if that is at all an issue. The full forks are super nice, really nice Billet fork bottoms. You can get black or gold.

@KarlKani the only reason I got the FGRT forks instead of the drop ins, and I tell this to guys who ask me why I always suggest the forks. Yes the Nix30 cartridges are half the cost (also depends on discount given for the forks :) ) but if he sell or trades in his bike I think he will take a loss with the Nix30 drop ins because not many buyers pay extra for parts we install on our bikes. Yet if he installed the FGRT 214 forks and sold the bike he can always remove those FGRT forks and sell them for $1300-$1500 any day of the week. At least thats what I have seen. I could be wrong. Thats just my opinion. It all depends on the buyer. When you also take into account the cartridges cost $1300 with springs + labor cost. That would bring the cost up to around $1700-$1750 + tax. Or maybe a little more. Im not sure what the install rates are where people live. Unless he were to do the cartridge install himself.

Yes I agree labor to do just cartridges will be the same as full shocks. And afterwords you have two sets of forks. I'm just curious how much better they are at the track opposed to the sacks

I track my 1299 and my S1000RR. At this time I havent tracked my bike with the Ohlins set up. However I did use a buddies bike last year with a Ohlins front and rear set up he ordered from me and I felt the difference. Granted we had to adjust the suspension for me. I used the bike for 2 days. He rode my 1299 with stock suspension. So here is what I will tell you. Was there a difference? Yes there was. It was noticeable and made me more confident. I could give you a write up on the pro's of this suspension. But that would be a thesis. Only you can say whether the extra money on the suspension is worth it for you. It took me 4 years to finally take the plunge and get the Ohlins forks and rear shock on my Duc. In the meantime I was doing other upgrades. Some questions you can ask yourself are how many times a year do I tack the bike. Do I want better performance on the track or the street as well. And as for the streets yes I saw an improvement but not that much where I can say oh I needed the Ohlins. Are you chasing a championship, part of a small time race team, or tracking for fun. However if performance is your end game no matter what then get the suspension.

Sure I save all my oem parts and put bike back to stock when I sell.

I have the fgrt 214 that I am currently having fkr carts installed into them for my v4

What cartridges are going into your FGRT 214's? You are swapping out the Ohlins 30mm cartridge kit that come with the FGRT 214's?

What’s the best price you’ve seen the complete forks ? Or even cartridges if you have check

I’m having the same question
30mm ohlins Cartridges are $1300+$280 for install for me

I’m guessing forks would be about $2500?

I need to fix my forks, last trackday kept bottoming even with all preload plus the rebound was cooperating like before. I couldn’t push the bike under braking so I have to decide what to do soon

FKR is the newest tech spring pressurized, essentially the internals from the new FGR 250. Nix 30 was the older tech gas pressurized system. The idea is that spring pressurized is more straight forward design more consistent higher performing system.

Ah, understood. Thank you. Have you ridden both? And have you ridden any competitors like K-tech?

I haven't this will be my first season on FKR, I would never ride anything other then Öhlins. There is no scenario where it would make sense for me to tryanything else, there is already limited info on Ducatis compared to Japanese bikes I wouldn't ever compound that by running another suspension brand

Got it. I had intended to go Ktech dds because the respected member here who’s 2019 base I bought said he had never ridden a better fork, but I’ve decided to do the fgrt instead.

I suggest calling Fast Bike Industries and asking them what they can do
I suggest doing the research ie learning what the parts retail for and what deals are available on the net AND THEN take the bike to a good suspension shop (not the one you used last time : ) and see what they suggest and want to charge for it all. By it all I mean not just getting and installing the parts but setting the bike up the way THEY see fit for your starting point. Which obviously might be different from shop to shop. Im not referring to the prices

Even if you have scales and ride height tools and every spanner wrench known to man I gotta believe a good suspension shop will do a better job than you will piecing it together and setting it up yerself

Yeah they might ding ya a lil compared to internet deals but for what you are trying to accomplish I would get it all done under one roof

They all have sprung forks

Some have a rear shock

The classes I race require a custom chrome moly chassis and you definitely would not want a rear shock. The chassis is the suspension - the front tire is barely making contact with the racing surface - if at all

I do the same thing I am suggesting Miguel does with my all dirt bikes. I am a motor guy. I let a professional sell me his idea of best starting point for suspension : )
